If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. This thing SUCKS! I've had FOUR of these remotes and they've all topped working!
16 February 2014
Summary: I've had 2 WD TV Live's, 1 WD TV Live+, and 1 WD TV Live Hub, and ordered one for like $25.00 (with s/h) direct from WD and these large remotes have ALL DIED at random. The only remote that still works since the day of purchase is the little remote for the TV Live+. I've swapped out the batteries.
Summary: I purchased two of these over a year ago and I am very happy with them. I use them to play movies stored on my network-attached storage systems. There is very little that this device wouldn't play.
Summary: 1. This WD Media Player does NOT play the ubiquitous .flv file format. 2. It will not read from external HDD which are NTFS formatted, Fat32 is accepted. Had I known these facts, I would not have bought this device.
Summary: the product is a piece of crap , i am using The HD media players since 6 years , i've had before the buffolo HD multimedia theatre , after 5 years it stooped , now i am using the Iomega 1TB HD media player and it is Great , so i wanted to buy one for my children and i decided to buy the WD tv live...
Summary: So far it's played everything I've tossed at it. AVI (xvid and divx), Mp4, Mkvs (of various bitrates). This little unit is great for my samsung tv as it eliminates all the cables and peripherals necessary if you were to attach a laptop.
Summary: I bought this player along with the wireless adapter for around $110 bucks, around 6 months back. I was researching on a number of other players like Apple TV2, Roku etc and finally decided on this one.
Summary: I have used this device for two weeks now and have never been happier with a gadget. I purchased a USB wireless adapter that worked great out of the box with the WDTV. The WD detected it immediately and connection was a snap.
Summary: If you don't need to surf the web or watch specific Internet TV channels like TBN, GBTV then this Is great. I would give it 5 stars all day long if I could type in the address of just 10 of the 1,000's of Internet TV channels that stream on the internet.
Summary: This was purchased on January 23, 2011. It finally died 8.5 months later on October 7 after requiring restarts for the last 3 months or so. I would have hoped it would work for more than 8.5 months, but it did not. This turned out to be a pretty big waste of money.
