Summary: I bought this because it claims to play my personal collection as well as stream internet. Yes it plays files of my music with no options, such as random play of my music. These media players are no more than a collection of shortcuts to the internet.
Pros: easy set up works for preloaded content
Cons: does not let you do much besides use internet content with preloaded shortcuts. Blue-ray player does same thing and plays disks, why not buy a blue-ray?
Summary: I do like the picture quality while watching Netflix or Hulu+. It does perform well in that (why this is getting 3 stars not less). Biggest con is that it did not come with the MLB.tv app and Sony's customer service was lacking when trying to talk to them.
Pros: ~HDMI & Standard hook ups ~Ethernet & Wifi ~Sleek looking design ~Picture quality is very good.
Cons: ~Lack of apps ~NO MLB.tv APP and Sony is not sure of when they will if ever (but PS3 has the app). ~Remote is quirky, directly in front of the device works. My dog gets between it does not work. ~Not very feature rich.
Summary: I've had this player for a few weeks now and am pretty pleased. I have not tried streaming my library via DLNA. I ditched my HTPC because the rest of the family didn't appreciate how cool it was and all the neat things it could do. They just wanted to watch a movie. So we're just playing via USB.
Summary: My thoughts are that it is really a good product that might need some software improvements. Not sure to understand why nearly all my DLNA servers have disappeared from the list.
Pros: * Play Netflix very well. * Video playing of great quality. HD is really HD. * can see my mythtv recording and play them in HD * there is an app to control remotely the device * bought on sale, it was a good value for the price * USB port, HDMI and old connectors
Cons: * User friendliness of the user interface could be improved. * The home button on the remote control is too close to the return button, several times, I pressed home wanted to press return. * never succeeded to get the DLNA connection with my windows7 media player but no problem with XP. * No res...

Summary: This pretty small device does amazing job. My first introduction to the SONY network media players from thr model SMP-N100. Now I've got the new one SMP-N200 and it gives you the same functions and more compact size of the box with nice compact remote.
Summary: I picked up the Sony SMP-N200 looking to find a good solution for playing local media while also having a good amount of choices for internet streaming as well. I own 3 Roku units right now, and by far they are the best internet streamers out there, but they have a very limited range of codec...
