Summary: I bought this over a year ago. I chose Sony because I thought it would be better than the cheaper WD units (which will play ISO files). Instead, I do not use the device at all except to occasionally check to see if Sony has added NetFlix to their menu choices.
Pros: Solid build, compact Wireless connection to LinkSys router is reliable
Cons: Does not play ISO files - unlike the less expensive Western Digital units Does not provide access to NetFlix in Costa Rica - my service of choice Manual is of little help. Slow to respond to commands I find the menuing system to be painfully cumbersome
Summary: If you are serious about buying this, do what I failed to do before I wasted the money. Search for "Sony Netflix Interface" and see how many bad reviews there are, and for how long Sony has apparently not cared. I bought this specifically for use with Netflix.
Summary: I purchased this N100 in the hopes to receive a (space saver) do it all device as far as wi-fi players goes. I am very disappointed with the component/technical quality because I found that the player does not in fact receive signal well and its function responses are way too slow no matter where I...
Pros: So many great features of programs if you can utilize them all. it is light & small and fits anywhere with all the audio jacking hook-up you'll need for quality sound.
Cons: Won't retrieve proper feed or transition so, what good is it having so many great features if you can't take advantage of them properly? Some users are saying it's because of a third party feed streaming. Well, I just know that it's junk!
Summary: I bought this unit from a different store because it was sold out here. Plugged it in, set up wireless network but it does not connect to netflix. I followed the instrucions and unfortunetly their website to register the product and get it up and running is not working.
Summary: Now I'm going to eat the return shipping cost to newegg because of Sony's false advertising, won't be buying anything by sony in the near-to-distant future.
Cons: This device is obviously not DLNA compliant. The only reason I bought it was to stream video from a DLNA server, yet this thing can't detect any of: ushare MediaTomb Windows Media Player ! Sony really needs to get their act together
Summary: I bought this from costco last week and I have already made up my mind to return it ASAP and here's why: 1. I started playing a divx video via USB and i forwarded some of the content and you know what, the video forwarded but the voice didnt and you have a sync problem.
Summary: Got it as a gift. I spend more time "waiting" while it spools than I do watching it much of the time. I know it is not my Internet connection because I can stream from the same source via my Wii, iPad, iPhone or Win 7 laptop with no problem.
Summary: This is a very disappointing device. Sony should be ashamed of itself. It is slow to connect to services. The user is expected to respond to ridiculous screen prompts. Like, once the device finally connects to the network (numerous tries/router is seven feet away), the user is expected to "close"...
