Summary: This was my first internet streaming device and I have to say I like it. It was easy to hook up and even through the remote has a lot of functions, it is easy to use. I tried Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and videos straight from websites without any problems. The only things I can bring up that I would say could be improved on is the forward and reverse functions and the unit does get pretty hot. Well worth the money.
I read a bunch of negative reviews on this unit, but I love it.

Summary: I read a bunch of negative reviews on this unit, but I love it. We use it for watching netflix, the consolidated (mostly) guide, and browsing the web. Works great! I love that I can customize the home screen with widgets and load applications from the Play store (although it's a limited selection). I also like the remote. One of the best that I've used.
Not happy at all. I have been waiting for ov..., Amazon

Summary: We've had this for a year and we will never use satellite or cable again when you can watch all of your favorite tv shows and movies for free using the internet. Far better than Apple TV or Roku. Those just limit what you can watch for free. Google TV has full access to the internet so you can watch anything.
Summary: Great product, easy set up, hundreds of apps, channels, music, easily accessible. Easy internet streaming, you can check your email and upload videos and pictures and watch on your big screen. Great buy.
Summary: I was looking at these units (Sony and Roku 3) for a few things; the first and foremost, to be able access my network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi so I can play all of my movies, music, etc., secondly to access my services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc., and third to access the internet like a computer for info or whatever I need. I bought both the Sony and Roku 3. Both are reasonable for the price and I set them up on two different TV's to see how they work out.
Summary: Out if the box, there is a new update. -amazon app. No more using chrome browser to watch amazon instant video. This app also supports prime instant video. - lock up, freezes and crashes. In saw reports of this which made me a little weary of it, but since the update its all gone. - voice support if you upgrade your Sony remote for I believe about $40 you can now talk to the TV to launch apps, search for shows, websites etc.
Summary: I have had this unit in use for three weeks now. I am very pleased with it. Set up was easy. Wi-Fi connection is stable and reliable. I'm using it via HDMI to a Marantz AV 8801. It has a lot of icons. It has the icon for the Berlin Philharmonic Digital theater to which I have a year's season ticket. Once set up, you just click on the yellow icon and you can select your program and it streams perfectly. It has a Google Chrome browser, so you can get any stream on the Net.
Superior to the Co-Star (comparison in review) & I also like it better than Roku (way easier to set up!)

Summary: I've now had the Sony Google internet TV device for a couple weeks after having had the Co-star for less than a month, enjoying it, but then having it overheat and die (a common problem for the Co-Star apparently..). I decided to try the Sony instead of buying another Co-star, and I have to say that I do like the Sony better than the Vizio Co-Star, even though it is almost twice as much in cost.
