Summary: This was my first internet streaming device and I have to say I like it. It was easy to hook up and even through the remote has a lot of functions, it is easy to use. I tried Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and videos straight from websites without any problems. The only things I can bring up that I would say could be improved on is the forward and reverse functions and the unit does get pretty hot. Well worth the money.
I read a bunch of negative reviews on this unit, but I love it.

Summary: I read a bunch of negative reviews on this unit, but I love it. We use it for watching netflix, the consolidated (mostly) guide, and browsing the web. Works great! I love that I can customize the home screen with widgets and load applications from the Play store (although it's a limited selection). I also like the remote. One of the best that I've used.
Not happy at all. I have been waiting for ov..., Amazon

Summary: We've had this for a year and we will never use satellite or cable again when you can watch all of your favorite tv shows and movies for free using the internet. Far better than Apple TV or Roku. Those just limit what you can watch for free. Google TV has full access to the internet so you can watch anything.
Summary: I was elated to welcome the arrival of the Android open platform that delivered me from Apple's proprietary clutches. So I switched to an Android smartphone and tablet. However, I had to stick with the basic Apple TV to watch Netflix and YouTube on TV, because no Android alternative was available. Thus I was delighted to hear of the debut of Google TV and, as Google did not offer any boxes of its own, I opted for this one because of Sony's past reputation.
Summary: Great product, easy set up, hundreds of apps, channels, music, easily accessible. Easy internet streaming, you can check your email and upload videos and pictures and watch on your big screen. Great buy.
Summary: When I bought this product I wasn't aware that Google TV blocks video content from other websites. You can access Netflix just fine. There's even an app for that, but Hulu and video feeds from any network's websites are blocked.
Sitting on the fence about this for sometime finally pulled the trigger.

Summary: My biggest concern was how this device worked for my family. I am tech savvy, however my young kids and wife are not. The best thing I can say is this device acts like a companion to our normal TV experience. By this I mean we can still use the cable box with the cable remote with little concern. That is the pleasant surprise with this device and it's interface. It has a simple Netflix app -- which my boys have discovered and eagerly explore.
Summary: The concept of Google TV has intrigued me for a while now. I looked at the earlier generation models, and had nothing but issues with them. Now, a few years later, I thought I would test the waters again. I really wanted this to work, so I ordered the Sony Internet Player on 20 May 2013 and gave it a try. First, setup was fairly painless. It attached to my wireless network without issue, and since I have Sony components, it hooked up with the TV effortlessly.
Summary: This product is horrendous. I strongly advise individuals to avoid this product. I have high-speed internet connectivity (high grade service with ample bandwidth) in my house with dual-band high quality wifi. Despite this, this unit never works. I have an Apple TV and numerous other devices running and streaming in my house that work just fine, yet this unit never works. It just loads and loads, and loads and often freezes.
