Summary: I use this product in a fitness studio and although the sound is great the app that controls the system is laggy and unreliable. We use both IOS and android apps and they both have issues. The android app can take up to 30 seconds to start after hitting the play button. Regularly has issues with the playlist function.
Summary: My intro to Sonos was a little over a year ago with the Play: 1. From the beginning both my roommates and I were routinely surprised by the amount of sound coming from that little unit. And I could place it anywhere. Shelves, floor, behind the couch, on a window sill - it sounds great anywhere! Shortly after, I purchased my second Play: 1 to keep in two rooms. Soon both made their way to my bedroom for stereo imaging - it's nothing short of amazing.
Summary: I bought a Play 5 and bridge for use in our large living room. The sound from the system is much better than I had expected and when it works, the combination with Spotify premium or Internet radio is great. We have music on almost all day and have liked the product so much, we would consider getting a second Play 5 if we could be sure it would always work. We have a situation where the music will suddenly and unexpectedly cut out.
Summary: I have had a lot of trouble with music just suddenly stopping. A message will appear saying that it is unable to play that certain song. It has played it before and then it will later play it again. It is extremely frustrating when we are entertaining.
Summary: I love the way the system works and it has reduced clutter nicely in our kitchen. That said I was hoping for much richer sound reproduction at moderate volumes. The "loudness" feature makes a stab at this issue but falls short. The play 5 falls well short of the sonic range a quality set of bookshelf speakers can provide. Recomended, but for convinence not sound quality.
Summary: I have a variety of P3's and P5's around the house as I needed a new sound system when I moved. Sonos seemed like a good way to get good quality sound around the house without cables and minimal setup. In this respect Sonos delivers. For the money and size the sound is great, better than anything else I heard and I did some serious hearing of similar systems. However, I wouldn't call it audiophile sound.
