Great sound quality, but problems in skipping the ends of songs

nscamera, Amazon
30 August 2013
  • Summary: Great sound quality, and compatibility with iTunes for managing library and playlists. However, it frequently skips to the next song, in the middle of the last one! I have tried troubleshooting, and rebooting, and nothing seems to work.

Very fine sound: indexing is FRUSTRATING

  • Excerpt: ON SONOS GENERALLY: The good: Most of the time I LOVE my Sonos system. I use Sonos in 7 locations in my very large appointment. It's the only solution I was able to find that kept music synchronized in all rooms, and I think Sonos has done an excellent job on linking to your private music library...
  • Pros: Fast Setupnice Controls, Great Sound
  • Cons: Clumsy Searchindex

Good system but not average sound qual.

Ray, ABT Electronics
25 December 2012
  • Excerpt: This product is great for listening to online radio, having multiple household members queue music they want to listen to. It's easy to setup, though requires internet connection. However, if you're looking for a quality sound system, get something audiophiles recognize, like Bose speakers.
  • Pros: Easy To Transport, Great Interface, Stylish
  • Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Requires Internet Access

Could be much better - Airplay will probably kill Sonos

EM, Crutchfield
5 November 2012
  • Summary: In all honesty I believe Airplay will kill Sonos. I have had a S5 for a year now, not able to play all of my music directly from my Time Capsule, Sonos recommends using a third party software to do an additional back up in Time Capsule, so I have in my TC my music twice (taking up additional storage...
  • Pros: Good sound, easy set up
  • Cons: Not airplay compatible, music index requires updating, not capable of playing your whole Itunes Library.

Loud it is but room filling it is not

foof, Richer Sounds

  • Summary: I bought this unit hoping that it would be good enough for a small dining room. I was really disappointed to the point where I took it back and have now bought two Play:3's instead. This gives a much better stereo sound and is as loud as you could want it.
  • Pros: loud
  • Cons: no stereo experience

Whilst the convenience was nice, the sound quality was utterly lacking

Andrew Ballard, Amazon
12 January 2015
  • Summary: Whilst the convenience was nice, the sound quality was utterly lacking, serious issue with bass being either too bloomy, port chuffing or too emphasized at low volumes depending on the music played, EQ options very limited and inflexible. Very sensitive to placement.

Easy to set up, average sound quality

Pete78, Richer Sounds
9 September 2014
  • Summary: its never going to sound as good as seperates at the same price but for ease of use and being able to stream music in the kitchen its a worthy addition. Its also connected to the Sonus Bridge which in turn is connected to an Arcam Amp, works a treat.
  • Pros: music streaming throughout the house , easy to set up and use , lack of wires , good build quality
  • Cons: average sound quality , average looks , not cheap for the whole system

Nice system but average sound

Charles, Amazon
29 April 2014
  • Summary: I like the Sonos system, and how easy it is to control the same system from different devices and to send sound to different rooms. I purchased a Connect:Amp to which I attached two Kef R100 speakers in one room, and a Play 5 in another room.

Poor Spotify Integration

Mr. Michael Moran "mamoran", Amazon
18 January 2014
  • Summary: I purchased a Sonos Play 1 and Play 5 based on Sonos claims of Spotify integration as well as build quality. Sonos products are nice and well built with great sound quality for sure but they do not integrate well with Spotify at all.
