Summary: The concept is amazing-- watch your home cable box or television on any device anywhere that is connected to a decent internet feed. A shame that the product is poorly made, unreliable and not supported by the manufacturer. I received it, configured it, used it for about a week until it died. The rest of the story has been one of pointless frustration. This is a situation where some other qualified and customer oriented company could really clean up.
Summary: I ordered one of those and set it up recently, and after I got it working, I can understand why the reviews are mixed on it. As of right now, the Slingbox Pro WILL NOT WORK on Windows 7 64 bit without some modifications. I tried for a couple of hours setting it up on a Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit system and finally gave up (the setup will continually loop from step 1, 2 and 3 then back to 1).
Summary: The hardware is nice and setup is straight forward. However, the support from this company is abysmal. They have a huge lag with browser support (Firefox 5 and Chrome are not supported) and the iOS applications are terribly buggy. If you intend to buy one of these be sure to read through the forums and know all of the limitations. Definitely not a customer focused company.

Summary: Slingmedia has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. That's saying a lot because I've dealt with Comcast and AT&T and they have a pretty bad reputation for customer service. There was an issue with the pro-HD model firmware and the box had stopped connecting for tons of customers. I noticed that I had a problem connecting too, all of a sudden, when I had no real connection issues before. I had not changed the settings nor changed my password.

Summary: My Slingbox Pro HD worked swimmingly for a couple of years (hence the extra star) until this week. Whatever update referenced in Sling Media's SOL apology (see copy below) bricked my Slingbox. I spent 4 hours yesterday resetting everything and still the network light will not stay on. The fix that they mention below does NOT work. Their support is the worst I've ever come across. After 90 days they won't even talk, chat, or email unless you pay a fee.
Summary: I bought this product and it worked for a few days then it stopped working. I called customer service and they could not resolve the problem. They escalated the ticket and said they would call back with the next level of support. They never called back. The problem is not resolved. I'm beginning to regret buying this product. Too much hassle.

Summary: Buyer Beware. This product is not ready for the mainstream yet. It is flawed with bugs and troubled setup. The setup concept is supposed to be simple. Plug the slingbox into your router at home, go to slingbox.com, create an account and you will be able to see and setup your slingbox. That's the concept.
Summary: Even though I rarely write a review, I promised myself I would once I received and installed the Slingbox. The reason I knew I would be doing this is the sheer confusion presented by the varied views (not only on Amazon, but other product sites). Not only was I on the fence up to and after hitting the purchase button, the reviews of the mobile app for the iPad were equally conflicted.
Please do your homework before you make my mistake.

Summary: I used my slingbox for 100-120 days casually. It was a pain to configure, but other than that I had no huge complained. Right after the 90 day warranty period it failed. All lights on the front of the unit blink. They will -not- talk to me unless I give them another 50 dollars for an extended warranty first. The year manufacturer's warranty isn't worth anything. Please, take a look at the overwhelming amount of people with the same issue I'm describing.
Summary: Don't just read my review. Go to the forums. The promise is so much greater than the product. Consider 1) it is a short term purchase. you will love it for the first few months. and then it will stop working. mine did --twice. Even had it replaced while still under warranty. just bought a $40 replacement part on ebay because the mfg. is out of stock. 2) customer service is awful.
