Summary: I had the old slingbox and it's still working okay. I wanted to upgrade to newer one and chose the SOLO in May 2012. Easy to setup and configure, it was working great. Then I started noticing that it would drop off and I would have to re-connect. It was happening on the Android phone app and I just assumed it was connection issues. Now It's consistently dropping off after about 5 minutes and has been doing this for about a week. This is on a much better home connection.
Summary: I read a bunch of complaints about "support". Not true for me, my DVR box was not listed for the "remote setup" so I was vexed. Dialed the number and waited quite a while but then got a friendly accented American voice that gave me some tips. Reviews say it will blow up in a year, but I've often found these review outdated and written years after upgraded models have been introduced. Even if it does, I don't care! IT FREAKING AWESOME!!!
Summary: I own the older Slingbox Pro and had a great picture ... I bought this Solo because this and the new Pro HD are the only ones that work with the Android Tablet I have (Toshiba Thrive) .. I am disappointed with the picture using Component (Red,Blue and Green) connection and I don`t know why but I get a little bit better picture with S-Video !! But all around It does what it is suppose to do...
Summary: The slingbox arrived quickly and appropriately packaged. It was bought at a good price, set up relatively easily however with my new cablebox(Cablevision Samsung) I haven't figured out how to change the channels remotely.I change them at home and then watch what I set up. It allowed me to watch the Superbowl remotely which is the main reason I purchased it. It is a wonderful item.
Summary: It's nice with high-bandwidth connections, but look out if you think you're going to be streaming right to your phone. When using the in-home wireless, it works well. When trying it on my cell phone, it doesn't work as well as I think it should.
Summary: I was able to set up the Slingbox SOLO with my cable box, connect to my router with the Netgear XAVB5001 Powerline Network Adapter Kit (XAVB5001) and install the software on my PC in less than 45 minutes. Could have done it alot quicker but I was afraid if I screwed up I would need to contact technical support (I noted the poor reviews for the company tech support).
Summary: Will keep the review brief: this product is easy to set up, inexpensive, and a great way to watch TV in places other than your living room. I use it primarily for watching TV via my desktop in my office. I have yet to use it on my phone or tablet because the APP is stupid expensive (30 bucks). This product itself is great but the main use it probably via APP and not browser so for it to be 30 dollars is extortion to some level (hence taking one star away).
Summary: It makes life easier when your DVR is right next to your wireless router. I hooked this thing up two weeks ago and havent unhooked yet, nor have I lost connection anytime I've accessed my box remotely. Only thing that could use improvements is the picture quality can get a bit choppy sometimes, not all the time. Which I think has to do more with my internet connection remotely but I'm not sure.
Works great from South America, picture is not the greatest in full screen

Summary: I purchased this to be able to watch NFL and college football in Argentina. It is attached to a Dish Network DVR in my parent's house in Colorado, and due to the layout of their house, I also purchased the Slinglink Turbo 1PORT Enet Connection Bridge (SL 150-100). My 60+ year old dad installed everything with little trouble and the system works great. I normally use the function on automatic selection for the options of streaming and there are no interruptions in signal.
Summary: I love the idea of watching live tv or DVR from my phone and tablet! It took a long time to get up and running though. The instructions weren't super clear on what I needed. I now have a long cable across my house. It also took trouble-shooting and googling to figure out that I couldn't have it connected to our HD sets if the tv was already on at home. But once we worked out the kinks the box was a Decent investment. I wish the app were not so expensive though.
