Still the best

Summary: My son lives in Europe and misses local TV and sports. He is able to keep touch through the sling box on his computer and Iphone. This is our second unit. First one died after two yeas, There are no other reasonable alternatives and at the price from J&R's it worth the replacement cost.
Summary: Love it. Use it in the house with notebook to watch TV in any room without wiring it for cable. Use it on the road in hotels to catch up on DVR shows and Netflix via Tivo.Power connector broke off the motherboard immediately but a return and re-buy was quick. J&R did me right.
Summary: This thing is really great. It works as advertised, and lets you view your cable programs remotely, as well as program and watch previously recorded shows on your DVR. Make sure your broadband UPLOAD speed is sufficient, as the viewing quality depends on your upload speed. I originally had the lowest tier dsl and got watchable but not great results. When I upgraded to 3meg/768k dsl, it got much better.
Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Easy Operation, It Works
Summary: Truly a revolutionary technology that is so affordable and most importantly that works. Extremely simple to use and install, very compatible with multifarious Cable/Satellite providers and their remotes. Works flawlessly, has diverse connectivity options (to your DVR and TV) that should map to any old or newer models.
Summary: This is a pretty good thing to watch TV. The only downside is that it has no WIFI. So that means you have to hardwire it to an existing jack or to your router. How can something like this have no WIFI? It's 2010 Slingbox Media needs to wake up and listen to it's customers on this point. Other then that it has pretty good quality, still have not tried it on my Ipod Touch yet but I have been pleased so far.
Summary: Works as advertised; however, your experience will almost be entirely based on your bandwidth - both upload & download. Fast connections = great experience. Slow connections = frustrating experience. For me, "fast up" is no less than 512K, while "fast down" is no less than 1M. (Their specs may suggest less.) Note that I chose this one over the Pro HD version because my upstream speed didn't meet the 1.5M that is required. My upload connection tops out at about 0.9M.
Summary: The Slinky as I call it is great. Very easy to setup once you get it to connect to your router. I'm using it wirelessly with a gaming adapter and it doesnt miss a beat. I can watch and control my tv on my laptop at home or office; and also can watch tv anywhere via Iphone using Slingmedia software. Video quality could be a bit better but its adequate for my needs. It would also be great if this excellent machine could connect wirelessly out of the box.
