poor customer service and instructions

Summary: I like the product, but installation was a challenge and customer service by telephone was poor. The small brochure that comes with the slingbox is cursory and provides little explanation of how to use the product. Terms aren't defined for those not tech savvy. I got blinking red lights when the power and ethernet cables were plugged in.
Summary: I'm an American currently living overseas in Poland and I have nothing but positive things to say about this product. I was a little nervous seeing previous reviews, but I am happy to say the Sling Box has lived up to my expectations! We have Dish Network at our home in the USA (no one is currently living there) and use the sling box to remotely access our dish while we're in Poland. We're no longer stuck watching CNN! It has been wonderful.
Very cool product - Works well with iPhone and Touch!!

Summary: I wasn't going to write a review for this product since so many others already have. However, I changed my mind when Sling recently released the software for the iPhone and iPod Touch. First of all, the device works as expected. The only frustrating thing is the initial setup. CHECK ONLINE FIRST!!! Before you begin to setup the Slingbox for your TV/DVR/Satellite/MCE box, be sure to check that the remote control codes are supported.
Summary: This review is for the purpose of remote viewing only. I only use the HAVA and Sling Box on a completely separate internet connection from where they are stationed. Sometimes this is across town and sometimes it is on the other side of the world. These devices do allow you to stream locally, on your local network, but I do not do that often enough to comment on it.
Summary: I was quite impressed with the specs for the Slingbox Solo and ordered one. I wanted it primarily for tuning into TV while out of the country but also during travels in the US. The Slingbox arrived well packaged, and was fairly quickly running on my home network. The picture quality on the network was...is...great. Problems arose, however, when I attempted to program the box to access the internet.
One of those things you don't know your missing.....

Summary: This is my first SlingBox product. I was on the fence about buying one, wasn't sure how much I would use it to justify it's expense. But Amazon as always had a pretty attractive price, so I bought it, and I am very happy that I did. First lets talk about set up. I have a fair amount of PC/Tech knowledge, but I am not a professional.
Summary: As we spend part of the year in Cyprus we wanted to be able to use our UK TV service there rather than pay for a satellite service. We had a bit of a problem setting the sling box up mainly because our Virgin V+ box disables all other outputs when using HDMI. The very helpful call service at Sling media did suggest a setup which involved using the HDMI component output to the sling box and another cable back to the TV.
Summary: I travel a lot - in UK and globally with my work and it's frustrating not being able to watch TV. If I take a laptop with me, BBC iPlayer doesn't work abroad. So I bought a Slingbox Solo (I've named mine Slinky). I read the manual online before it arrived so it took about a minute to set up with the Sky box we have in the bedroom.
Summary: For those of you that don't know what a sling box does ,It allows you to watch TV from any source e.g. Sky,Virgin Media or freeveiw via the internet when you are away from home ,This is my second sling box and I use it to watch cable TV when I am away in my house abroad ,You can even set up to record program remotedly ,I have the latest V+Box which my sling box is connected to ,I also have a sling catcher which is in my house abroad so I can watch directly on my TV...
