Summary: I did not realize this product is almost 3 years old. It does not play modern AAC sound files or the newer MP4 files. Having to re format my files to work on this machine. Cheap price and now I know why.
Summary: I got this FAT+ like a month ago, brand new in box.The very first day I upgraded the firmware and set it according to instructions.I put some music on a usb and plug it to the FAT+, and guess what, it turn itself of at the middle of the playlist with no reason. At that point I just use the remote to turn it on,thinking that maybe something was wrong with the usb stick, I plug in another usb stick with more music and to my surprize the FAT+ turn itself off again. Not really...
Summary: "Awful" doesn't begin to describe the remote and the navigation for this unit. Bought it to be able to watch streaming Netflix via the television. It lets us do that, and it was a decent price, but the navigation is so bad it couldn't have happened by accident. Someone with a mile-wide masochistic streak must have built the remote and created the navigation.
Summary: After hooking this unit up using the optical cable for audio, I could no get any sound to come through my home theater receiver. My system is set up such that I must use the optical port for the sound on this device. I moved the optical cable over to my XBOX 360 and it worked fine. I also tried it with my DVR and it worked fine too. So I assumed that the issue was with a faulty optical port on the Seagate device.
Summary: The Seagate FreeAgent Theater HD Media Player does not support HDMI, which is bad. It would have been a lot easier and lesser wires dangling out. Most video formats including Mpeg doesnt play on this. The Codec needs to be changed for those formats that don't play on this media player. It does not play my digital cam videos too, which was the major purpose for which I bought media player. So it's not for people who don't know how to change the codec.

Summary: I had high expectations for this media player. It is good looking and easy to use...UNFORNATELY... it DOES NOT PLAY your home movies unless they are converted to a particular format. MOVIES: We own Canon digital cameras and a Flip Video Camera... Both are very popular, yet movies taken with these cameara DO NOT WORK on this player. You get pictures... no sound.... Tech support informed me that we would have to change the CODECS for these videos...
