Summary: I asked for my Roku for my Christmas Present in 2010 almost 2011. I have been using it non-stop ever since. Its wireless system made it a breeze to hook up to my apple router, and Netflix plays great on it as long as the signal is not being hogged by other devices.
Summary: This Box is a perfect for what we wanted, my 80 year old father was always up set about having to pay over 100.00 a month for satellite and never having anything on worth watching, not to mention the commercials.
Summary: This Roku box is wonderful and is awesome for watching movies, tv or just streaming Pandora. I love the feature that I can show my digital pic's on my 42 in screen to friends too. It has great speed and I've had no issues with it.
Summary: Let me start by saying that I am not the guy who lives with a remote in hand in front of the uber-mega HD TV. I don't own any other device that would do what I wanted so this was the best option. I bought this so that I could watch Netflix on my TV. Mission accomplished.
Summary: This is the first device I have purchased that I felt compelled to leave a review for. I only gave the device 4 stars because the description is incorrect. A computer is absolutely required for setup. After connecting to the network, the box gives you an activation code.
Summary: I purchased the XDS version because it has a built-in USB port. Unfortunately, it seems that Roku does not yet officially use this port. You find this out only when you try to use it because this is not mentioned anywhere in the literature.
Summary: I have two other ways of accessing streaming content on my TV over the Internet but both of them have problems which I won't detail here because this about the Roku XD|S. As Netflix states, "The all-new Roku player is the easy way to stream Netflix instant movies and shows on your TV.
Summary: The setup wasn't as 1-2-3 as they say, but once I got everything inputted the system works pretty well. I'm happy with the picture quality and the fact that I can easily stream my many many Unbox videos is great. I liked it enough that I bought another one for my office TV.
Summary: My rating for the Roku XDS is a 4.0 but to be honest it can be said that it performs as a 5.0 based on what it is designed to do. The fly in the ointment for me is that it doesn't play local media via usb except for .mp4. I have a large collection of mkv files that I wish I could play on the Roku.
Summary: Great player.....It is small, light and more or less easy to install if you do not have encryption turned on. I am using PSA2 personal encryption on my router. I had to turn this off to connect and donwload the latest ROKU updates.
