Summary: This is the second unit I've had go belly-up in three years. I've finally learned my lesson, and won't be buying a third one. I highly recommend the Roku, but only if you don't mind replacing it every year and a half.
Summary: It is a huge pain to get connected to the network then even harder to keep it there, Seems like every time i turn it on i have to go through the network set up again, then your lucky if it even finds the network. There are more of these same reviews but i am sort of a techie so i figured i would get it to work, well i was wrong!! I paid good money for it and I NEVER use it...
Summary: This device is a great idea and works ok but it gives you more of a headache than not. I would recommend just getting a game console or internet-ready tv (Sony Bravias are awesome!!) instead of this little box of trouble. This device is consistently undependable, so beware.
Summary: My poor review is frankly because I misunderstood what this product does. What it DOES is connect to certain pre-defined internet locations and allows you to play media from those locations to your TV. What I had wanted was something that would allow me to connect to any source on the internet, which would have allowed me to access stored music and videos over the internet.
Summary: We had no complaints for the first 6 months, it would occasionally need to be restarted but other than that th Roku did exactly what it was designed to do. Unfortunately when it stopped working there was nothing to be done. I spent over an hour on thephone with various tech support operators (they all ended up hanging up on me). The troubleshooting is the same series of steps, if that doesn't work they don't have anything to offer. Very frustrating.
Summary: This is a promising device, but really fell short for me. I was picked one of these up on sale after having read all the glowing reviews here and hoped that I could use it for Netflix and streaming some of my own media. It comes with plenty of connections: HDMI, RJ45, optical audio, and wireless N networking. I figured this would be the one! Once I set the thing up, I was surprised at how simple it was. I don't mean simple in a good way.
Summary: An OK internet app box. Don't expect anything more. It does NOT play your BT download content or anything like that. The remote is good, especially the bigger keys and simple layout. The app gets laggy from time to time.
Summary: Setup very easy, functions as advertised, except for the remote control. 99% of the time I have to have the remote control right next to the unit for it to work. On a rare occassion, I can actually sit across the room and it will work for about 1.5 minutes. I have moved the unit away from other electronics, there is no window or other reflective surface, except the TV, anywhere near it, but it just doesn't work.
Summary: The Roku works OK for streaming Netflix, but is unusable for the other channels. When Netflix won't play through the Roku, I can connect my laptop and stream the same movie with good quality and no buffering. I bought it specifically for the wireless function. Setup is very easy. Technical support had me return the first unit, since they could not get it to work. The second unit was the same, but using the support forums, I was able to get it working somewhat.
Great product (be SURE to buy from Amazon), AWFUL Tech Support and Customer Service from Roku

Summary: This is a great product. You have a very pleasant and easy-to-use user interface for browsing your Netflix instant queue and the image quality is excellent HD (on a wireless network - using an Apple AirPort Extreme in a 1200 sq ft condo). I cannot recommend this product highly enough. However - the caveat - you should order it from someone other than Roku. We ordered one from them, paid for expedited shipping, and then waited over 10 days for it.
