Summary: I'm old. And I love my Roku. I don't need my kids to help me find a movie or catch up on a TV series. It's a no-brain little device. I don't subscribe to everything that the Roku has available to pay for...but for the 3 things that I use, I LOVE it! This is a must have item for those of you (as I) who do not have a "smart" tv, but who have an HD tv. ...makes me feel tech savvy!!!!
Summary: Roku customer service is just about the worst. This unit (manufacturer refurbished and certified working by Roku) came with a nonworking RCA video connection, so I had no choice but to use the HDMI port. This would be fine, but since my TV has limited HDMI inputs and my DVD only has HDMI, I have to swap the cables at the back of the wall-mounted TV whenever I want to switch between Roku and DVD.
Summary: Item comes with 90 day warranty. Worked for a few days then died. ROKU has good product but absolutely the worse service. I want to return this item for another. They continually refuse my numerous requests for a RMA. Made an appointment to receive their telephone call. They never called. They refuse to let me return this item. They have made it impossible to exchange a defective unit within their warranty period. It will soon be the end of the warranty period.
Summary: I have two of these and they reset in the middle of the movie almost every time I use them. I called tech support and they had me do a full factory restore, but that did nothing except take a ton of my time signing into all my accounts again and searching for passwords. Then they told me to buy new ones. These are only a couple years old.
Summary: Was super excited to get this for my mom. It looks really nice, but didn't come with a power cord When we went to return it we couldn't. So she ordered a new power cord and it still didn't work.
Summary: Please fix my ROKU. I am loving what it provides, but I am not satisfied with what I have at the moment. The Roku goes on and off a lot. I would be watching a show and the roku all of a sudden goes completely blank and whatever I was watching comes back after a couple of seconds later or if I start to play with the power cord in the back, it starts working again. Also, I wish my roku has an a/v and eternet plug.
Summary: This model does not have an Ethernet port so one is limited in options if WiFi is slow causing flutter. I found the set up frustrating due to cumbersome across screen movement with the remote. When I logged on to Roku on-line support services I was astonished how long the queue was any time of day and the slowness of replies (the chat person must be juggling multiple clients simultaneously). This model is described as having 1080p resolution.
