  • Summary: The ONE thing that they should b telling you about this device doesn't seem to be mentioned ANYWHERE until you have problems and start digging. You MUST be able to add the MAC ADDRESS into a router to get it to work. I don't HAVE a router or hardwired cable internet - I subscribe to a Wi-Fi plan and have no way of getting this resolved easily.

Update: Crashes

  • Summary: I own two Roku boxes. The 3 works like a charm all the time. My 2XS regularly freezes and restarts. I have contacted Roku and they basically said to restart and reset, which I did, And the same thing happened. Seems to happen when fast forwarding using Hulu Plus, which is something I do regularly. Don't be tempted by the couple of bucks you save, buy the Roku 3 or a Chromecast. I hate this thing now.

Should not buy REFURBISHED anything

  • Summary: This item lasted for a little over a month, lots of frustration and not worth the effort, we called the support, they can't help us and finally I decided to return it and it's too late, no longer under warranty..it is garbage..so we bought a new one, much better, cheaper at Office Depot...disappointed!

  • Summary: Sending back. First time getting a refurb and this product didn't connect to any wireless routers i tried it on and I didn't want to go wired. Guess it still needs to be refurbished... again. Great price but didn't work.

  • Summary: This was my second Roku; I love the product--but not this "refurbished" unit. I bought the refurbished unit (foolishly in retrospect) to save about $20, and because it came with an HDMI cable. I've had very good luck with electronic products refurbished by the manufacturer, as this was advertised. I don't think that this product was refurbished by Roku. I've set up two other Rokus and each time it took me about 10 minutes.

  • Summary: How can a company send a 'broken/unusable' product out? When I read 'refurbished' it should mean 'tested' and ready to work. I bought another from Amazon, it works nice and I am very happy.

  • Summary: If you want your kids to be able to watch whatever content is on offer on the channels provided (i.e. all of Netflix streaming), without any option to filter it, then get this player. I can't believe a content provider like Roku hasn't thought of this simple filtering feature. Everyone is always hectoring parents to filter what their kids watch, but if tech companies like Roku don't give us the option then I guess parents shouldn't buy this device.

  • Summary: Unit worked for approx. 4 months then stopped working. Spent 5 days going back and forth with "Tech.Support". Reached a point where we were repeating fix-it suggestions. NOBODY acknowledged the unit stopped working. I was told maybe my router is bad #wrong#, I was told my ISP may be blocking signal #wrong#. My last phone call I started talking with an 'agent' and when he asked that we go thru all the tips again, I refused and asked for a Supervisor to call me.
