Summary: Long and short- spring the extra $20 to get the Roku 3. The Roku 2 XS was a good option before they released the 3, but the Roku 3 has an actual dual-band wireless chipset inside, and streams high quality content much more reliably than the 2 XS. And while you're poking around the Roku- take a look at Plex- a fantastic app for streaming content from your computers to your Roku.
Summary: My grand daughter is very, very pleased with this. It was most convenient to purchase the bundle so I didn't have to shop around for the HDMI cable that is required. Now, if grand daughter does her school work first, that could be the challenge.
Summary: Awesome. We use this in combination with a DTV (over the air) antenna - Got rid of our crappy satellite subscription and we're saving over $1,000 per year - and not missing any shows that we want to watch.
Summary: I have been using a Roku 2XS streaming player since early 2013 mainly to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime movies and TV shows. Recently, I have added another unit in a different room about a month ago to watch other free programming from other providers such as PBS, Smithsonian Channel, WSJ Live, and CNN international, the Knowledge Network, etc. So far I am very satisfied with the Ruko 2XS' performance and its ease of use.
Excerpt: The Ruku is a nice little box and easy hook up.
I would rather have a full blown PC driving the TV to allow for more flexibility.

The Promise of "Free TV" is also oversold, many of channels still require a subscription or pay for view.
Summary: I love my Roku and the channel options. I recently, hwoever, was really missing watching some of my favorite shows on ABC, PBS and NBC and the one Roku channel I could find to get them (USTVNOW) turns out doesn't work in the USA - only for USA residents who are abroad (how weird is that?!) The good news, however, is today I hooked up a Winegard FreeVision FV-30BB HDTV Antenna and now I'm set with the best of both worlds!
A very good entertainment device that works well for me, streams HD quality on from my Amazon prime and Netflix video accounts!

Summary: Length:: 4:21 Mins Please take the time to watch my video as it reviews the features and also the startup of the Roku 2XS. My son has an older Roku in his home and his family just loves it. They spend a lot of time watching Netflix and they enjoy using it every day. They have had a good reliable unit and so I thought I would try to use one at my home.
