Summary: It's a pretty neat device. If you don't have a Netflix subscription, or Hulu Plus, it's useless. There are lots of channels, and not much content. Frankly, simply plugging in a laptop to my TV gives 1000% more things to watch.
Summary: The Roku box is very easy to set up. However, you will also have to set up a Roku account if you do not already have one. To set up a Roku account requires a valid credit card. Nothing is charged for any of the free channels, but the credit card information is stored for purchasing any future pay...
Summary: I recently purchased a Roku (2XS) at a local big box store for our bedroom, as we had a Wii connected to our living room TV. After seeing how easy it was to use, I decided to move it to the living room, which left us with nothing in our bedroom, so I decided to purchase this one to use there.
Summary: Overall, the Roku2 is a great product. It's smaller and more stylish than the Roku1. Setup is easy and non-eventful. Despite what I've read in a few other reviews, it can be setup/registered without a credit card. But the feature that I wanted most was the closed captioning.
Summary: This is my third Roku player. I use mainly for Netflix streaming, and it works great. Also, Pandora works well, and the remote includes buttons for Netflix, Pandora, and one other channel. Convenient. However, the new style remote is not as touch-easy to use as the older ones I hsve.
Summary: Peter G McDermott unboxes, reviews, demonstrates and teaches you how to use the Roku 2 XD 1080p high definition (hi-def) set top box for your television. All you need is a TV, power source and Internet connection to get started.
Summary: The content is spot on. Hulu Plus, Netflix, plus all your Facebook photos and videos. News channels for free etc...The remote isn't always responsive and the interface is not as smooth as I expected. Worth the price even with the flaws.
Summary: The Roku 2 is a great product & reasonably priced compared to similar devices out there. It's very easy to set up & use. There are a couple of things that need to be addressed like the websites lack of channel information. It tells you what the channels are but not what the subscription prices are.
Summary: This is my second Roku, last year I bought the previous model (ROKU XD) and I loved it, so I bought this one for another room in my house. I don't know what happened, but this one was very difficult to setup intially compared to my other unit.
Summary: Last year we purchased a Roku player for my mother-in-law who is deaf to a certain range of tones, so she rely's on subtitles a lot. We thought it would be great for her to finally be able to watch streaming movies on Netflix.
