Summary: I have been using the Popbox 3D for well over a year now. PRO: Plays almost anything you throw at it: .AVI, .MKV, downloaded TV eps, ripped DVDs, DVD ISO's, BR rips CON: Almost nothing else works right. Movie and TV indexing is spotty at best. Features that are supposed to work, don't. Very limited remote control. CON: Flaw in firmware code will not let your NAS sleep.
Summary: I used for two days the third day all is giving me is POPBOX <LOADING> and then the screen goes off line. I really don't know what to do I love this product I had everything all set but I was disappointing what the third day please help me.
Summary: I've owned this for 2 months now. It took a little bit of setup for it to find my NAS but after messing with it for a little bit it did eventually recognize it. It then scanned my 2TB drive and created a front end interface with images and descriptions from IMDB. This took a long time but I was happy that it worked when it was finally finished. It wasn't able to match all file names to their IMDB data but you can manually search and fix this so again no big deal there.
Summary: I wanted to like but too glitchy. Freezing up when starting up. Had to pull power cable and replug in. Can't delete cover art from movies if delete movie from hard drive. Not worth the hassle. Needed something easy for family members to use. This isn't it. When it worked it was nice but getting it to work consistently was the problem.
Summary: I selected this product because it has all of the features I was looking for. I watched the blogs, hoping that the next firmware release would support enough of the advertised features. However, after the Popbox team went silent, I decided to return my unit and wait for the firmware to mature. If the features are supported, I will definitely re-purchase.
Nice little box, but the software just doesn't work well.

Summary: The Popbox was purchased with the idea of replacing an older HTPC that I didn't want to maintain the operating system on. Unfortunately, it struggled with reading over 2TB of media from our home server, and did a very poor job of identifying the shows and movies. I wanted to love this device, but it just didn't perform. The UI looks nice, but was also less than responsive on many occasions.
Summary: I ordered the Popbox during a brief availability window on April 7th shortly after learning that the box would be delayed to get the software right. Syabas, the makers of the Popbox said they needed more time to get the software solid before shipping the product and that it would ship on July 23rd. Imagine my surprise when I got a shipping notice on July 15th that it had gone out from Amazon.
Alright just for videos not for a full movie library.

Summary: I have been waiting for this device to be released for months. I have been running an xbox 360 with windows 7 media extender and media browser and windows home server for my movie needs that have an actual cover art with description. I was wanting to get ride of that additional computer to run the media center. The problem lies in that it is actually slower than media center extender with a lot more issues.
