Summary: This is my second time buying a media player as the last one was very poor and wouldn't hold the wifi signal. This one isn't much better. I have had to re-boot it several times, which means having to go through the fiddly set up menu. the remote is very slow to react to keystrokes. It is very hard to pause anything. Using the 'back' key sometimes makes the device jump 2 steps back, very annoying.
Limited use but great with Netflix if not a bit tiresome

Summary: I already have an Apple TV and this is of a similar ilk, though you can't get iTunes or stream from your computer. However, this module is about 60% of the cost and it will show videos from Youtube and if you have a Netflix subscription, films and TV channels from there. Setting up is pretty easy. Virtually all you do is plug it in add the HDMI cable, put in your internet password and you are good to go. However it gets tricky using the controls to put in passwords.
Summary: Phillips HMP2000 media player Following the recent publicity around internet enabled tv & the Netflix film / TV service, the HMP2000 seemed a good way of making our TV last a bit longer before an expensive upgrade became necessary. Initially Phillips seem to have got the pricing right - sub £60 seems reasonable but things start to unravel when you open the box.
