Summary: UPDATE: Was "works OK" and three stars. Seems to have improved lately - works really well now. The s/w finds my Orb device easily. Not sure if they updated something, but I moved the review up to 5 stars now - works perfectly! ORIGINAL REVIEW: The idea is awesome - convert my existing stereo to a cloud music player. The hardware is "cute", simple, small and clean. Install was easy. The idea that I can manage the music from my Android phone is perfect.
Summary: Bought the ORB as a christmas present for myself after an extensive search for a device that would stream music to my home audio system. This is the perfect device. Unlike some of the others published reviews of the ORB setup for me was easy. Just followed the simple steps in the instuctions and it worked the first time. I'm going to buy another one for my audio system in my rec room.
Summary: Everything about this device is EASY. Easy to setup and easy to use. And the sound is great for a wireless stream. It is not CD quality, but I didn't expect it to be since it is streaming MP3s from my computer to my stereo system. However, it sounds better than how my iPad or iPod sounded directly connected to the stereo. I have almost 100 gigs of music on my computer and it is wonderful to just remotely control playlists or just shuffle my entire audio library.
Summary: After having some minor issues with getting the drivers loaded and initially being unable to get Pandora working, I think this is one of the most incredible devices on the market today. For some reason, after I downloaded the software and updated drivers from Orb's website, the installation program wouldn't recognize that the drivers had been installed and kept ushering me to call technical support.
Summary: Let's put it straight, Orb MP1 gets any kind of media anywhere you have wifi and speakers. Pandora, Sirius, web radios, iTunes, Youtube; in my dining room, bedroom... Even bought great tiny speakers for $17 from amazon (X-mini II) and I can listen in my bathroom !
Summary: A friend of mine showed me one of these and I just had to get one for myself. It's a little hockey-puck-sized thingie that can connect to anything with an audio input jack. (I have mine connected to a radio in the kitchen.) It sits on my wi-fi network and streams my music collection from my PC right to the radio. The coolest part is that you use an iPhone app to pick the music and create playlists on the fly. I love it!
Summary: Just a simple device with a simple purpose: play your music anywhere in the house! I have to say, it just works. It's there all the time when I need it and plays all my content & my pandora stuff. Love it!
