Not compatible with my computer
10 March 2014
Summary: NETGEAR wasted my time telling me that this was the product compatible with my computer. Well, it was not and after 5 hours with 4 NETGEAR reps/experts they finally confirmed what I knew. I had to return it to the seller. This was handled very poorly by NETGEAR.
Summary: We purchased 4 of these devices and have had 2 go bad in a 6 month period. Contacted Netgear support and was told yes the device has gone bad but they are sorry they do not have any they can send out to replace. They will call us when they do. Really!?!? So the warranty only applies if you have stock of the item and you don't do refunds? When the item works it works very well.
Summary: This item worked (albeit not as advertised -- HD doubtful) for approximately 6 months. First, the sound quit working. Tried to get help from Netgear's website. What a joke. They sent an e-mail back telling me to disable my firewall. I tried it, even though I was pretty sure the tech didn't even understand what the problem was. Within a couple of days, they "closed" my case. I got ONE unhelpful e-mail.
Summary: DO.NOT.BUY.THIS.PRODUCT. There are known issues. I bought mine through Dell, and it did not work out of the box. You may only exchange after going through "troubleshooting" with a tech at Dell. If this does not work, they transfer you over to NetGear and you go through the same process all over again. I was on the phone for 4 hours plus on two different occasions troubleshooting with a tech (after troubleshooting myself for over an hour. .
Netgear Universal Push2TV HD Wireless PC to TV (PTVU1000)
24 October 2012
Summary: For a product described as "latest Generation", this is a shame. I purchased this item for use outside the US and I spent 7 hours trying to install drivers and "no drivers installed". I tried to install it on several machines with different OS thinking that the problem was a compatibility issue with my pc, and again "nodrivers installed". I have used some other models that were pretty easier to use.
Summary: I have a Netgear wireless router and extender so was very disappointed in the performance of this product. It sets up very easily and connects fairly quickly. However, the range is very limited. Nowhere on the Netgear website, the data sheet or on Amazon does the description discuss the product's range.
Summary: I am really disappointed from Amazon & seller. I bought this product and they didn't mentioned that your PC processor CPU speed should be above 1.8 GHZ. My laptop is 1.6 GHZ so the only thing you can do is browsing and if you need to watch 720p movies you should have 1.8 GHZ CPU. 1080p should have CPU 2.4 GHZ.

Summary: Terrible range. My computer is 8-10 ft away, albeit through an open door to the next room, but still line of sight, and best I could get was a changing frozen frame every few seconds if at all.
