Summary: As a long-time user of networked media devices (I have three AudioTrons), I was looking for something that would make my DVD collection as useful as my CD collection is. I also recently purchased a high-capacity RAID/NAS box (5.5TB usable), so had plenty of space in which to "back up" my DVD...
Summary: I've been fussing with MCE since 1.0 I've been playing with video long before that (early VCR, etc.) I've been in the computer business (hardware and software)for over 38 years. YES, you may consider me over the hill, but if I am... I'll take my EVA8000 with me.
Summary: Here is the situation: I have more than 600 DVDs that I am in the process of ripping onto hard drives. They are ripped in standard DVD format (VOB/IFO) full quality, no compression/encoding, just raw dvd files.
Summary: After struggling with a D-link DPG-1200 and the worthless tech support (hours wasted on the phone, pushed from one level tech to another, only to be told hours later to CALL BACK!) Then they wanted to charge me $49.00 for the support I would need to get the thing up and running!

Summary: I have owned this unit since it's release and all of these peoples frustrations with this unit were justified. Now let my say that with the latest firmware on this machine it becomes everything promised and then some.

Summary: One common problem with a lot of media solutions is restriction on the playback media. Netgear resolved this issue. I can play formats like avi (dvix), DVD, WAV, mp3, pictures (mostly jpegs) and numerous other file formats. I did not have to upgrade/downgrade the box.
Summary: If you've seen AppleTV but want to play more than the stuff on your iTunes then this is the tool for you - plays iTunes, XVids, avi's etc - basically everything. A much better solution than my s-videod laptop.
Summary: I didn't realise how something so simple could completely change the way in which I watch movies and listen to music! To start out, I Recently purchased a 40" Flatscreen TV which in itself was great, but when watching DVD's through my old DVD player they looked bad, blocky and fuzzy, I just couldn't...
