Why do they insist on charging so much for plastic around a hard drive?

  • Summary: Don't own one, wouldn't buy one. Played with one in a store and did some reasearch. If you want a really limited media center where your previous ripped/downloaded media is unlikely to play, this series is the one for you!
  • Pros: Can impress you other completely tech naive friends with how much money you spent on a hard drive enclosure with incredibly limited software!!
  • Cons: As others have said on other models of this device: You can build a fully functional HTPC for this price. Why limit yourself on available codecs and all the other things you can do with a HTPC that this little box cannot do? Want a small form factor HTPC? There's plenty of manufacturers out there...
