Summary: Okay, we finally decided to kick the ol' satellite to the curb and save a little cash. Went to IPTV with a Netflix subscription on a new BluRay player, but missed the local channels, so we set up my Win7 Pro machine with a TV Tuner. I didn't want an XBox to push it to my theater setup, and was lucky to find these for sale here.
Summary: I've got a main PC, running Windows 7, in my home office. This is where I store all my media. Wanting to be able to access my movies and recorded TV shows from my family room, I setup a second PC with Windows 7, bought a new video card, TV tuner, & wireless card (spending more then the cost of this extender).
Summary: It plays our recorded TV, pictures, DVDs ripped to XviD (not DVDs in the player), and music from the other room with an interface that looks just like Vista Media Center. Wife acceptance factor = high. We are using wired ethernet (100) and a 1080p tv via HDMI. The supplied remote is good. Speed of menus is acceptable (even faster, if you turn off transitions in the setup). FF, rewind, pause, etc. are all fine for Live/Recorded HD TV -- looks perfect on our 1080p tv.
New pricing makes this a great buy for a very good product!

Summary: In summary - the DMA-2100 is very much worthy of your $100. It's not perfect - but for the price, you won't come close to finding anything else this simple and effective. Candidly speaking, I am pretty darn technical, so I am confident in my review. Moreover, I am approaching this review from the POV of someone that is not as technical as I am.
Summary: I purchased two of these extenders in Januray to go with my two XBox 360's, and I am nothing but pleased. I ended up buying a QuadCore 6600-based PC to use as the media center, mainly because I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of upgrading my older machine to Vista. I am connecting it to a wired network; I haven't yet gotten a 802.11n router so I can't speak to how well it works wirelessly. The interface is exactly like it is on the Vista machine.
Summary: I now have three Linksys media center extenders in my home. We have a 10/100/1000 router with 7 computers, and media tv and the 3 Linksys MCE. Each of these work very well. Very small box in size and the visual performance is excellent. I have had to max out hard drive storage the 3 year old MCE pc we use to drive the system and also as a den pc for household computing. I have no complaints.
Summary: Amazing product. I've got 3 these little boxes and very satisfied. I've switched from cable TV to IPTV using this media extender and Vista Media Center IPTV plug-in. All 3 boxes working good simultaneously with regular old Linksys G router (all wireless). I do not need to burn downloaded DivX movies to CD or DVD's any more to watch it on DivX player. I stream it directly from computer. Also works great with HD DivX with 5.1 AC3 sound.
