Summary: I have had this for last two years which I bought for $30 Fry's on black Friday. I use it to watch Movies / shows in Netflix and works just fine. I also use Youtube app to watch almost anything from songs to movies you name it. This is very good product. I wish they would add more apps to their lists that would enable user to subscribe and watch news and sports that would also be cord cutting time for me. Watch out expensive and almost worthless Charter....
Summary: This thing is junk super super slow always crashes and never connects to the internet it's very rare that it connects right and actually works for Netflix, and even then it is freezing in the middle of a show or stops playing audio lg did not work very hard on this thing, save your self the hassle and buy a better box I'll be getting something different.
Summary: I could not decide on this product or the Apple TV but I purchased this and yes I was very disappointed. I don't want to bash LG because all of my tv's are LG's. I will keep it simple, I ended up purchasing the Apple TV (it is awesome) and gave the LG smart box to the doorman of my building No Charge!
Summary: I initially purchased this unit so that my wife could watch a Netflix on TV instead of watching it on her laptop or having to plug her laptop into the TV via HDMI, but when I began to play with the other apps such as HULU Plus and Pandora I was impressed with how versatile the "little black box" was, setup was a snap, the Wi-Fi connects with ease. It literally turned my TV into a smart TV. I also like the USB port on the side so I can show photos or personal video clips.
Summary: but was so cheap I purchased it for testing. It won't make it through the commericals but returns to the start (probably why it is a refurb). But I really really like the concept for this box and the feature set provided which has actually proven to be wider ranging than the Rokus. Still testing but all in all, this is a great little box for those looking to escape the cable.
Summary: Beware of the "Smart TV" Today's DHS daily email referred me to this article which states that LG Smart TV's are collecting personal info and sending it back to LG servers… From the article: "However, even if the feature is disabled, information from the LG Smart TV is still sent back to LG's servers." LG's response: " the retailer who sold the TV should have made customers aware of the Terms and Conditions associated with the use of the device.
Summary: The item is easy to handle, neat, very simple to begin using, however the wifi as I read online has poor reception, could not connect less than 12 feet away, had to connect to my Q10 to get service. Once I did it was great I began right away to enjoy the experience until the problem with power and connection, to summate i used it 2 days and it has been 3 days since i have used it.
