Bad browser. Do not buy this product if you intend to use to browse the internet- It does not support my ext. USB hard drives

ABDUL A ELFARRAH, Amazon
23 January 2013
  • Summary: The order was made on Dec. 27, 2012. Per the tracking information, "wrong address". The original shipment went unclaimed due to being sent to the wrong address (The seller did his best. no fault of the seller). The seller was kind enough to re-send the package as a priority mail, which arrived yesterday.

almost useless

Stan, Amazon
3 July 2012
  • Summary: I bought it in Fnac Belgium for 120 EUR. It is pure disappointment: a) cannot play all youtube files: it says "Video is not available", b) cannot register this device for Divx VOD although manufacturer claims that it can be done, c) the device gets so hot that I think it can cause fire at home if left turned on and without attendance.

Too slow and Clumsy remote

Nicole Oliva, Amazon
8 February 2012
  • Summary: This thing is way too expensive for what you get. I hate the remote- it's so slow I could cry. Going up and down my list of videos takes forever, there is also no short cut like choosing a letter to jump down the list of files. Sometimes you push a million times and it doesn't respond, other times its really sensitive. It also hates rewind and when you fast forward it doesn't want to stop.

Sort of works... Sort of doesn't.

TenesmusD, Amazon
25 June 2011
  • Summary: Browser feature is worthless. Do not let that factor into your decision. The settings that you can change are very limited, and offer little flexibility in the way your interface behaves. Most notably, changing the movie files from list view to gallery view: for one, despite the advertising telling you that you can do it, there is no way to add an icon or preview image to movie files (such as the DVD box cover).

Very disappointed.....

Andrew I. Munro Sr., Amazon
7 April 2011
  • Summary: This seemed like more than the WD Live as it has a Browser, that was the reason for my ordering it, along with a cool, full keyboard remote. Sadly the Browser is useless, slow and quirky and really serves little purpose. I was also hoping that one could assign a VPN to the box allowing access to streaming media from the UK. Which it doesn't. It did pick up my network, but does not recognize a USB hub, so you are limited to what you can connect to the 3 USB ports.

"Move Player Controls are severely lacking!"

spipics, CNET
2 August 2010
  • Pros: Small, lightweight, and came with cables!
  • Cons: 1. Move Player Controls are severely lacking! You cannot navigate to Play Movie, Languages, Scene Selection, or Extras. 2. Pause movie control is temporary ; returns to beginning of movie. 3. Cannot access or play NETFLIX movies on demand.

wait for rev2 to come out

bigoil, Amazon
12 November 2008
  • Summary: Pros: Cheap, if it recognizes your drive its very good about playing mp3's and photos, in fact it even supported my playlists I had created with winamp. Picture very good on analog tv, at least as good as archos or ipod video players Cons: Does not recognize most of my external drives, and on the few that it does it will not play any videos except for AVI files, as a Mac owner most of my files are MP4, but the unit does not recognize them, and I don't even use the h.264...
