Worked great until Windows 7 upgrade

Summary: I hope iomega deploys the Windows 7 firmware update ASAP - the ScreenPlay Pro HD is a great product, and the network-transcode capability was a key reason I purchased the player.
Pros: I ran the ScreenPlay Pro HD via a LAN router and a PC with Vista 64-Bit OS with very few problems. To explain its functionality: the player allows you to 1. read/write to the player from a connected PC in your LAN, 2. play back files stored on the player to a monitor/TV (HDMI output looks great),...
Cons: As iomega notes on its support Web site, a firmware update to 'fix' networking between Windows 7 PCs and the player is not yet available, but pending. Since upgrading from Vista to Windows 7, I haven't been able to log on to the PC/LAN workgroup via the player, although I can still read/write to ...
Pros: Plays a wide variaty of file formates. Links to home network easily; I used the Trendnet TEW-424ub. The menus display the files complete name even if it is long by scrolling. Its a great size, the remote has real buttons (not the blister type) and can be used without the remote from front buttons...
Cons: There is only one major flaw in the ScreenPly Pro HD and unfortunitly its a big one for me. It does not play movie files encoded in 5.1 surround. It will only play back in 2.0 stereo. Most players half this cost can play back in 5.1. Cannot find anywhere in the documentation where it explains thi...
Summary: At first look this is a fantastic product, store all of your Videos, DVDs, photos, music to a networked 1TB ext drive at the other end of the house and stream video and store it for later playback. Well its never just that easy I am afraid!
Pros: Large Capacity 1TB, Silent, Cool running, smal, sleek and sophisticated looking! Has Multiple inputs and outputs! HDMI, Comp., RCA, USB 2.0 and Ethernet.
Cons: Comes bundled with WEAK, Useless software Disc! Manual, is a brief Quick connect, pamphlet! DVD conversion to DIVX time consuming and ties up your computer for hours on end! SHOULD COME WITH A PACKAGE OF SOFTWARE FROM IOMEGA, TO CONVERT AND SEND VIDEO FROM YOUR COMPUTER TO HD PRO! Will be a great...
Summary: If I could go back I probably would have just spent a bit more and built a small htpc. Iomega is thinking in the right direction, but this just isn't quite there yet.
Pros: Easy plug and play, the interface is simple and it plays nice with subtitles, which is a big plus. Sound is great for such a little player; and I do mean little, this thing is the same size as your average external drive.
Cons: It's loud and highpitched, I can hear it even with my computers fans going full blast. Doesn't work with any containers other than avi, no ogm/mkv. Video is blocky. Tends to lock up if a directory has a lot of files, be prepared to split stuff across sub folders. Included cables are super short.
