Great reception but buttons and interface are a little hard ...
8 July 2014
Summary: Great reception but buttons and interface are a little hard to use.. The big knob is used for scrolling etc.. Its menu driven and the information slowly scrolls........ across the screen... You can use an on line website to program it, but that requires the password, log in, etc.. I only use it to listen to a few stations so once I set it up, I don't change it.. so for me... its just ok...
Summary: I have had this radio for 2-3 years and it has worked flawlessly ... until last night, that is, when it abruptly quit as though I had unplugged it. The electrical outlet is fine but I still checked the radio with another live socket -- same thing. Power is not going to the device, meaning the problem is in the radio itself. I waited 12 hours, then tried it again. Voila!
Summary: The "Grace Digital Wireless Internet Radio Stereo" is one of the best tuners that I have ever seen. The ease of setup and the multiple choices that you have for your listening pleasure (Internet Radio, Pandora, Live365, and others) was honestly quite astonishing to me. With the WiFi I have in my house, I had 5 bars on everything and the radio comes in crystal clear. And the channels! There were so many of them that I had trouble selecting JUST one.
Summary: Just bought the Grace Digital Radio GDI-IR 1000. Best thing I bought in a long time. It uses my general internet router and allows me to tune into 20,000+ stations all over the world, including over 1,000 stations in Germany and my preferred areas there. The sound quality is very good. This radio even gets me good reception for my New York classical station, which now has poor reception over the air.
Summary: I love everything about the GDI-IR1000 but have had too many technical problems with it. I have made 3 warranty returns, costing me a total of about $37 for shipping. Each of the 3 GDI-IR1000s Grace sent me has had issues re-establishing connectivity with the router after losing connectivity. This frequently requires that it be disconnected from and reconnected to AC power as the only way to re-establish connectivity.
Summary: I've had this wifi radio for several years and it often disappointments. I also purchased the Logitech Squeezebox that has had many fewer problems. The main issue is that it has lots of problems connecting with the wifi. I'm running an Apple Airport Extreme and an older Linksys routers about 35 feet away around one corner. It has problems with both. By comparison, he Logitech radio is farther way and almost never has problems.
Summary: Ive been having intermittent issues with this radio since i got it 3 months ago. When it works, its good. I have it to stream Pandora in my office. The buttons arent the best for taking care of settings, etc, but hopefully u dont have to do that too much. I dont know about the rest of the features since i only use Pandora, and for that its good.
