Simply Awful

Sidney M., Newegg
13 May 2009
  • Summary: I will never purchase another D-Link product. May the rest in peace.
  • Pros: Strong, sturdy packaging box. Pretty colors.
  • Cons: Extremely slow playback with Internet wireless cable connection. Watching a video (if you can actually get it to play), is very choppy and at time freezes up. The remote control is very unresponsive and useless. The TV Screen resolution is very poor and the picture is low quality. It does not at ...

poor quality, does not work as advertised

Toby Kehn, Amazon
26 December 2008
  • Summary: I decided to ignore the poor reviews I had read on this product and purchase it anyway. The quick user guide completely skipped the first screens in the install. The image on the TV was not acceptable using the supplied cable, so I used a component cable I had.

Randy K, Amazon
26 December 2008
  • Summary: I've been looking for something to let me watch my mp4 video collection on TV for some time and in the last year there have been a number of products introduced. When I was at Fry's I saw this on sale for $99 so I decided to give it a try.

Great concept lousy product

John, Amazon
26 December 2008
  • Summary: What can I say... the product sucks. Read many negative reviews but thought it would be different for me. I'm sure most people will do the same as me and think a lousy product will perform different just for them but it won't. I bought more than one just to play my odds... Yeah right!

This thing sucks

KENNETH T., Newegg
11 December 2008
  • Summary: One could easily buy a cheap computer for less money and get full HD and 5.1 surround.
  • Pros: Was easy to set up wired and wireless. Pictures look good, but hard to navigate with remote.
  • Cons: Bad choppy video. I have a gigabit network using a dlink router and it was still choppy. Sometimes sound not synced with picture. Remote trackball is a poor replacement for mouse.

Don't waste your money

Robert W., Newegg
17 June 2008
  • Summary: It basically amounts to an expensive music player. I thought it be nice to be able to stream videos onto the big tv in the living room. There was no rating or comments when I purchased this, but I thought I'd give it a shot. After about a day of screwing around with it I filed for an RMA.
  • Pros: The color scheme matched my router.
  • Cons: The wireless is a pain to setup if you have any sort of security running, WPA limited to 23 chars. It doesn't play video worth watching. A lot of vids played on media player show upside down. Even playing on VLC the videos were very choppy and pretty low quality. Overall it was a large drain on m...

Doesn't Work w/ Media Center. Failure of a Good Idea.

P. Colin McGraw "AV, Computer & EnviroTech Nut", Amazon
3 April 2008
  • Summary: I have been patiently waiting for this device for about a year and, unfortunately, I came out disappointed. My hope was that I'd finally have a device to stream ripped DVD's (.vob files) and recorded TV shows through the Windows Vista Media Center interface, and this device couldn't cut it.
