Summary: i'm starting to love asus products! i already love the 2013 nexus 7 that asus made with google and now this. it literally plays just about anything i throw at it! i have an external hdd filled with all kinds of video files (mkv, avi, mp4, wmv, divx, etc) and it managed to play everything with exception to a few very large wmv files but i'm totally fine with that! most of the files i play anyway are mkv and mp4.
Summary: First off, I have been an owner of many DVD/Blu-Ray units that "support" video files. My Sony Blu-Ray player has about 80% success rate playing any video I download via USB port. As you know, 80% don't cut it. I was tired of converting videos/shows/movies on my computer to another format to view on the tv via Blu-Ray player. So my hunt began. After reading many media player forums, this unit came up on many postings. So I started checking user reviews of this.
Summary: I have bought quite a few of these and have given to friends and family and they work great for what I need out of them right out of the box they play a wide variety of files the interface is easy to use my inlaws who hate all tech stuff even find it easy to use
Summary: This is a rock solid device that plays any format that I throw at it. I bought an additional one as a gift. Highly recommended. I wish we could get the OPLAY plus in the US. WIFI would have been nice.
Summary: I bought this for my birthday in December. I have 3 1.5 TB Toshiba hard drives and this little media player has played every movie file I have thrown at it. My wife and kids like it so much that now I will have to buy another one so I will have one when I travel. I have read all the negative comments about the remote and can tell you from my own experience that I have not had any problems with a lag and it works 6 -10 feet from the box itself.
Summary: Ive had an oplay for years (an R1) and have now got a family where we are fighting over who gets to use it so its time to get some more! Love these things!!!! For the price its an absolutely exceptional value!!!!! I have occasionally run in to things that the old R1 couldnt play but im an avid viewer and i have no problem with just converting files to something else if need be so i can watch it. Im talking out of thousands of files maybe 2 didnt work.
Summary: I wanted picture to come out of HDMI and sound to come out of the analog white/red cables. It did! It is also easy to use and although some may argue it lacks network function, you cannot really argue for the price you are paying.
