The Asus O!Play Air HDP-R3 is a high definition media player that does media streaming over the air via its WiFi 802.n connectivity. The O!Play Air HDP-R3 supports one USB 2.0 port, a eSATA/USB combo port, a multi-in-one card reader for SD/MMC and Memory Stick cards most media formats such as MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, RM/RMVB files. The O!Play Air HDP-R3 follows the footstep of the HDP-R1 and features HDMI 1.3 video output for High Definition content. It also supports an Ethernet LAN port for network connection, in addition to its WiFi capabilities.

The ASUS O!Play is designed to bring media into the living room in full HD 1080p resolution, full-fidelity audio, and allows users to view photo slideshows on an HDTV or home theater setup. With a wide format support, an array of connection options, and support for playback over a network or directly from USB and eSATA drives, the device enables users to view multimedia playback without file conversion and has high-speed Ethernet LAN connection for network streaming. The O!Play is also able to stream bitstream or decode Dolby Digital and DTS Surround audio, and has composite (RCA) audio and video outputs for compatibility with most setup if a HDMI output device is not available. The device supports MPEG1/2/4, RM/RMVB, VC-1, and H.264 video compression,.MP4, .MOV, .XVID, .AVI, .DIVX, .ASF, .WMV, .MKV, .RM, .RMVB, .FLV, .TS, .M2TS, .DAT, .MPG, .VOB video file extension; MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, AIFF audio; JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF image file and SRT, SUB, SMI, SSA subtitle. It also features a full-function remote for navigating media, complete with a unique dedicated button for instantly shuffling music, a photo viewer that allows users to share vacation photos with family and friends, and comes with a one-year limited warranty within North America.
