Excerpt: You might get a few channels of news and the like for free but most things cost $$$. Old PBS shows cost $2.99 per episode. This device is mainly a hub if you subscribe to multiple streaming programs.
Excerpt: I bought this along with a new iMac 8 months ago mostly to be able to stream movies from the iMac and mirror from my iPad.
A complaint. The color profiles often don't match and I have to constantly adjust the TV to get decent color.
Excerpt: We tried it at home, with home router it works however the apple TV is not compatible with the Internet in the dorms where my daughter lives. We even call apple. But it dos not work when internet is with access code. It is okay, but did not match my expectations.
Summary: Navigation is not as intuitive and Bo back navigation is not well thought out. it does not compare with ROKU, only reason I switched is because NFL GameDay was not available on ROKU, if NFL become available then I will switch back to ROKU
Summary: This is my first Apple product. The remote control is nice-looking, works well, except it is a little too small, requiring more precise operation. However the interface is nice, organized into types of programs and channels, I always know where I am.
Summary: I wished I knew that I have to pay to watch almost anything on it. Even YouTube video not fully functional. Some video on YouTube but you could never find them using a please TV. I would say it is ok but not impressive
