Very enjoyable and addictive.

  • Summary: If you're a fan of any of Sid Meier's games then you'll enjoy Colonization. I'll start by saying it's probably not for everyone as it's a complex, turn based strategy game. If you enjoy something that takes some thought though you'll love it. The learning curve isn't too steep as the game lets you figure out how to play as you go along and you can happily discover new game concepts yourself as you go along.

Good Mac conversion

  • Summary: I had lot of fun on the oldschool version on Amiga. 15 years after, I switched to Mac and I waited for this game instead using any emulators. This is a great game. I still enjoy it.

Complicated, turn-based trategy game

Henk Beentje "Henk Beentje", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I have just won my first game of Colonization, *ever*, and it is just as addictive as the first version (back in 1995!) - just a bit better designed. Mind you, it's still complicated even at the easiest level I was playing: you have to balance your economic development (through juggling resources) with an ever pushier king back in Europe, raising and raising your taxes. There are other colonizers, and locals who are not that pleased to see you come too close.
