Ignore the Negative Reviews ...

Paul N., Amazon
23 March 2004
  • Summary: Sure, Shadowbane had a bad rough start. So did allot of other MMORPGs. The pressure was on Wolfpack (The developers) from not only Ubi (The distributor) but the public to release the game. They not only released a PC version but also a Mac version for those sorry souls that dont have any games on their system anyway. (lol). The games graphics arent spectacular because the game is solely CPU dependant.

Very nice game, better than any other MMORPG out there.....

  • Summary: Well, I heard a lot about this game, and looked at a lot of reviews and screenies for it, and decided it was a good lookin game. So i decided to try it. This was a long time ago and im still playing. This game is still fresh and addicting! You start off with the character creation screen, adding points and runes that affects your characters disciplines and skills for future times.

Shadowbane a really nice game but.......

Ogresoul, Amazon
20 November 2003
  • Summary: ...if you dont have many people online the game ceases to be fun. I remember when there where at least 1500+ people online on my server (chaos) at approximatly primetime. I am lucky I am on one of the most populated server(chaos). But 150 people online on a huge world at primetime is no fun and when 150+ people on a huge world is considered the most populated....thats a really bad sign.

I'm addicted

Lo'Khan, Amazon
17 October 2003
  • Summary: All I can ask of a game is that it make me want to play it. Shadowbane does that so well that I'm forgetting what the real world looks like. Completely absorbing, I find myself learning new things each time I'm on. The grouping feature is a real pleasure, too, and I've made some good gaming friends. Shadowbane is complicated -- give yourself a good amount of time to cross the learning curve -- but once you've got the hang of it you'll be addicted as well.

Rocky start but much better now.

Captn'Mac, Amazon

  • Summary: The last patches have improved this game immensely. I think all those that had accounts in the begining should give it another try. Its actually no risk as right now UBi is offering a free trial. ......The lag has greatly been reduced and the massive battles between 100s of players is much more feasible. The Patches keep coming as well, and they continue to work hard on these issues.

Greatly improved by newest patches

Cautionary Tale, Amazon
4 August 2003
  • Summary: When I started this game, it was virtually unplayable. Now it is one of the best online games I've ever seen. Shadowbane really has pushed the envelope into the realm i've bee waiting for all these years, a true, player-run, non-scripted environment. My group has just broken off from our main guild and started to form our own city. Let me tell you, city-building is incredibly fun and rewarding.

True RPG

spree0610, Amazon
7 July 2003
  • Summary: Shadowbane is the first game I've seen in a long time that incorporates true RPG capability. With the ability to customize gameplay by building cities, forming guilds and creating all out seiges against other cities, Shadowbane has the capability to become a monster game. However, it it not without it's faults. Many of the bugs and lag have been fixed in recent months.

Excellent Game!

David Levine, Amazon
13 May 2003
  • Summary: I have played several MOGs over the past 4-5 years and I have to say Shadowbane is probably the best I have seen so far. This game stresses group play more than any other game I have played in the past. In other MOGs at times it could be difficult to find a group to play in, not so with Shadowbane. This game is designed from the ground up as a group effort game. Want to solo your character?

Ignore The Bad Reviews

David Levine, Amazon
12 May 2003
  • Summary: If you like MMORPG then this is the title to get.. There are some bugs mostly lag problems but theyre getting fixed... Now on to the game review.. Character creation.. pretty good, There is many variety of classes to choose from, specialty traits, etc. And there are proffessions to choose as well.. I have 4 assassins of the same "race" for example and not one of them is the same type of fighter. Forget what the morons say about you having to pay for the extra 3 races..

This game is worth your time

"gamerextraordinaire", Amazon
20 November 2002
  • Summary: It finally released and i must say it is very good. It is vastly different than any game out there and the graphics are much better than some would make them out to be. There are many classes and disciplines and an attribute system so it is near imp0ssible to run into a twin. This is a good game but if you don't like pvp then it won't be the game for you.
