Homeworld 2 is a real time strategy video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sierra Entertainment. It is the sequel to Homeworld and features enhanced graphics and audio, and also alters its game play as it takes a new direction which Vaygr and Hiigaran ships differ significantly in design and application. Homeworld 2 was released on September 16, 2003 and enables single and multi player modes. It is rated T (teen) by ESRB and 12+ by PEGI.

Features

As its predecessor, Homeworld 2 features three-dimensional battlefield that retains Homeworld movement system which requires a simple right click to direct the ship, while a fairly-intuitive system which binds the Z axis to the Shift key allows more complete control over navigation. Besides that, it also features only one resource to be collected by harvester craft which is the ubiquitous “Resource Unit”. Plus, the Mothership is capable of constructing almost every unit in the game except Shipyards and the Battlecruiser. Also, the Mothership is also capable to build Carriers, which themselves can build any ship from the Fighter, Corvette and Frigate families; and the Mothership plays role as the centre of new research. In Homeworld 2, it works with various sizes of ships that include Fighter, Corvette, Frigate and Capital Ship. Bear in mind, the larger the ship, the more powerful it is and durable it is, but as for cons it is less manoeuvrable and takes longer time to bring it into battle. The player’s objective is to destroy key enemy elements, capture particular targets, protect certain units for a particular amount of time, or tow an object back to the Mothership.
