Summary: At first it was very difficult to install. It tokk me 2 days to figure it out and spent hours downloading "stream". But when it finally worked, I can say it is a great game even if a little complex at first.
Summary: I have the Steam version (which I gather is identical to this one, as users end up downloading it from Steam anyway), with all of the expansions as they were on special offer at the time with the main game. People have complained about frame rates on the Mac - this is true, from about the mid-game onwards there are some framerate problems but mostly when zoomed out, if the view is kept zoomed in the framerate problems are small to none (playing with full detail and...
Summary: This new version of Civilization offers interesting new features like the cities-states and the all-new battle system who require more organisation and strategy. The socials and religious options (with the Gods ans Kings expansion) allow a much better customisation of your civilisation as it grows through the centuries. On the other side, the spy system is much too limited. Also, it is a pity that Aspyr drop the World Regnerator.
Summary: My advice is to be cautious of NeuroSplicer's review of this game as it's a misleading appraisal. In fact, I'm lead to doubt the reviewer has even bought this game as this is the Mac version and he talks about his PC system. It's also worth noting he's just cut and paste the same review he posted for the original Civ V. Seems like he wants to knock the game on any platform he can.
Summary: The working relationship between a game designer and his publisher is never a simple one. So I would not know where exactly to place the blame, Sid Meyer or 2K GAMES. But in the end, it does not matter. Because it is simply sad to see a great gaming franchise came to this. THIS IS NOT A CIVILIZATION GAME A great number of major features of this beloved series have been simply removed. A fellow gamer called this "Civilization For Dummies" and he is absolutely right.
