Battlefield 2142 is an online first person shooter video game developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE Stockholm) and published by Electronic Arts. This is the fourth instalment in the Battlefield series. It was released for Mac on August 1, 2008. It enables single and multi player modes. It is rated as T (Teen) by ESRB and 16+ by PEGI.

Battlefield 2142 is set in future ice age in 22nd century, where it sees European Union (EU) and Рan Asian Coalition (PAC) party battle for survival. Battlefield 2142 is designed mainly for multi player game play. It enables up to 64 players on a server or a maximum of 16 players in single player mode against bots on Conquest mode. There are 15 AI bots available. Besides that, the game features 4 different playable kits which each kits has different weapons and equipment; each contains a basic weapon, secondary weapon and knife. In the game, player is enables to gain rank, options, and equipment by gaining points. Moreover, kits can be customized too as player is allowed to unlock using the one kit to makes it more effective and increase the ability. Each class has two unlock able weapons and one passive unlock which upgrades the soldier’s helmet, each helmet upgrade having different functions. The benefits of one soldier’s helmet upgrade will also be shared with his or her squad mates. Meanwhile, as for the Conquest mode, it involves two teams of players fighting each other while working to capture and defend spawnpoints (which are represented by flags and display the colour of the controlling faction). As for the Titan mode, it requires players to destroy other team’s Titan, while trying to defend their own.
