Summary: Battlefield 1942 runs very well on my Macbook Pro. I haven't had any issues thus far. Even at the highest settings it runs smoothly. I haven't applied any patches or updates to it for the main game. While the game is indeed clunky in some aspects of gameplay it isn't all that bad. The AI could be improved upon but given the age of the game you will have to make do.
Summary: Battlefield 1942 may not appear to be the most technically advanced game on the market at first glance, but it soon proves to be one of the most addictive and playable. Every vehicle is usable from cars to tanks, planes to aircraft carriers, and all stationed guns can be manned also. It plays really well and allows you to get really stuck into a really good battle. Multiplayer battles are most excellent.
Summary: I've owned this game now for the past few weeks and feel I am now able to offer a review. I hope some of you find it useful. Firstly, my comp specs: Atlon 1.2Ghz 1 Gig Ram Geforce 4ti 4600 Graphics Board Win XP 512K Cable Connection I run the game in 1024 x 728 resolution with all settings set to maximum and it runs smoothly and looks great. It only 'jerked' slightly when I was downloading a 250 mb file at the same time as playing! The gameplay itself is fantastic.
Summary: This game is amazing!!! I have noticed people complaining that this game slows down your PC especially if you have Windows XP. Not true at all. I have WinXP and I have not experienced any problems whatsoever. Perhaps if you have old computer that doesn't support newer games that need to meet specific requirements, but if you have newer computer you should be fine. I have P4 at 3.06 Ghz with a 120 Gb hard drive and 1 GB of memory and the game is running SMOOTH.
Summary: The dream game has come. Battlefield 1942, a WWII game playable rather online or single player. And it's better than that other junk: BAM BAM - uh oh my life is halfway down. This is actually REAL, 1 to 3 normal shots from maybe a pistol will kill you. Besides the pistols, there are possibly any war weapon or vehicle you can think of. Let's take a look. *GRAPHICS* Outstanding. 8/10 maybe? Really good grpahics that make the game look absolutley real.
Summary: Lately, I find my gaming collection containing more EA Games software than any other brand! Battlefield 1942 is a wonderful WW2 simulation. You can play on either the Axis or the Allied teams! Different missions represent different countries from these two sides, and each country has their own, unique weapons!
Summary: If you like to experience intense action that can change every single time you play, as well as having a good dose of realism, then this is the wargame for you! I have played many such historical action games, and this is the best - hands down - in terms of physical realism and battle experience. If you play with a team it can be simply awesome - ask any soldier!
