Excerpt: This was my dream lens for my Sony A6000. I wanted to take landscape photos and to dabble in astrophotography, and I thought that this lens would be perfect for that. However, after I used this lens for about a week, I realized that the photos I took with it were not as sharp as I hoped it would be,...
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction
Excerpt: This lens is used for landscape. It is very sharp except of a little softness in the corners even when stopped down to f11. Auto focus is not great. It hunts before settling down to a focus even when it is already in focus.
Excerpt: I use this lens on my Sony a6000 for real estate photography and architectural photography. I used to shoot with the Tokina 11-16mm on my crop sensor Canon. When I switched to Sony I thought this would be my replacement. It's far better than the Tokina/Canon setup.
Excerpt: Optics are beautiful, there is no doubt. My concern is with the internal focus and aperture control mechanisms. The lens appears to rely on a motor that adjusts the focus + aperture which affects the "feel" of the lens.
Summary: Really wanted to like this lense. Took it out the first day and it caused my A6000 to go blank and restart after 10 seconds of blank screen when shutter was depressed. Took it to the local camera shop and they put it on their A6000 and it did the same thing. Defective from the box. Sending it back.
