Summary: Went on 3 photoshoots with this particular lens. I will say its very well built, seems dead solid and the focus ring is amazingly smooth. However, for performance. I had CA in every shoot so far.
Excerpt: The lens is amazing, especially at F1.4. Crisp and sharp at all F stops. Lens rarely needs adjusting in Lightroom. Colors are true. The only issue is it will not work on my nikon D810 but works fine on two other types of Nikons, so it must be the camera, not the lens.
Excerpt: It´s a great lens for portraits. The image quality is beautiful. The construction is great, and its short in its lenght. It´s very nice for pictures with enough time to focs manually, not an action lens...
Excerpt: Crisp, clean, and very smooth. I've been using this lens for a couple of weeks and have shot several portrait sessions and some general candids. I'm replacing a Nikkor 85mm F1.4 that I've had for 30 years.
Pros: Consistent Output, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: This is probably as sharp as it gets. It is a wonderful lens. It is built to last at least 50 years. The best lens I've ever had so far. If you can get it buy it, in 20 years you will still be using it.
Summary: Beautiful lens. I've used this via a Novoflex adapter for the Sony FS100. It creates a beautiful soft image, with nice bokeh, the only problem I have is that when I focus it, it seems to shift the F-stop slightly. not a problem for still shooters, but for video this is bad.
