Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 ZF Lens Review

SLR Lens and Camera Reviews
5 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Carl Zeiss used to manufacture a whole range of SLR lenses for its Contax range of 35mm and medium format SLR cameras. The Contax lineup was eventually discontinued in early 2000s after Kyocera, which owned joint development rights for the Contax brand name, exited the camera business all-together.

Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 ZF (FX) - Review / Test Report

photozone.de
3 January 2009
  • Conclusion: The Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 ZF may not deliver superb results on full format DSLRs but the quality is still impressive. The lens is sharp straight from f/2 and especially around f/4-5.6. Lateral and longitudinal CAs are moderate, but for most subjects nothing to worry about. The moderate degree of distortions is about average for a prime lens in this class. However, a real weakness is the annoyingly high amount of vignetting at large aperture settings.

Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 ZF - Review / Test Report

photozone.de
31 October 2008
  • Conclusion: Quality-wise the Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 ZF is a little superior compared to its its sister lens, the Distagon T* 25mm f/2.8, and it easily outperforms the corresponding Nikkor AF 35mm f/2. The resolution in the center is about as good as it gets on the Nikon D200. The borders are very good at large apertures but it takes till about f/4 before the quality gets excellent here. The level of vignetting is about average for a lens of this class.

Expert Review

Optyczne.pl
11 March 2007
