Summary: I am a photography enthusiast who purchased my first 40mm lens in the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.4. I got the single coat version to shoot B & W mostly on my Leica M9; the multicoated version apparently is better for color photography.
Excerpt: I have owned literally thousands of lenses in my photographic lifetime, and no single optic has broken my heart more than this one. I call it a silk hat on a pig because the image quality is absolutely stunning in every way possible.
Excerpt: I use this lens with my Olympus Pen E-P1. It is 80mm middle telephoto in micro 4/3. It seemed like refine of Leica Summilux F1.4 in current technology . It is a beautiful compact lens. I think this is one of the best prime combination with micro 4/3 camera.
Summary: It's a magnificent lens, great build all metall. The focusring moves very firm and smoothly, the aperture ring have very solid clicks. The images from this Nokton, have an interesting creamy artistic feel. Thats what the classic SC stands for, no ASPH lenses.
