Excerpt: Amazing little lens. Super small, light weight but very solid build. Looks and feels great on my Sony a7. Easy to operate, clicks are solid, focus is smooth but not loose (perfectly dampened). Overall very happy with this purchase.
A tiny performer you might consider for your Camera Bag!

Summary: Bitte Sehen Sie den Bericht in Deutsch im 2.Teil. This is an excellent lens, especially for the price. It can be used 4-fold – with 4 different focal length as a very fast f/1.4 lens: 40mm on a 35mm Leica or Voigtlander or Hexar RF or Leica M or SONY NEX9 or VG900 52mm on a Leica M8 60mm on an APSC digital Body like NEX or Fuji 80mm as short tele for Portraiture on a m4/3 like Olympus M1 or Panasonic GX7 In my opinion it is soft at f/1.4, however each lens is a tool,...
Summary: This lens - better than the old Leitz Elmarit-C 40/2.8: it is a new one and lightfull, it is nice precision and accurately made and the same size small. One of the best everyday M-camera lens.
Summary: I am a photography enthusiast who purchased my first 40mm lens in the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.4. I got the single coat version to shoot B & W mostly on my Leica M9; the multicoated version apparently is better for color photography. This lens is very different than what I'm used to with my Leica lenses. The exposures are softer and has a classic film like quality. It's not biting sharp like the Leica lenses.
Buy this Lens if you want a fast lens w/ a little wiggle room for framing!

Summary: This is a great lens for someone who wants to get into the M mount systems. Since there are only a few cameras that have frame lines for the 40mm field of view, it will take some getting used to to frame your shots. Overall the build quality is incredible. This truly rivals the Leica lenses as far as build quality goes. The only thing I found is that it is kind of soft at F 1.4.
