  • Summary: Excellent lens for the money. I especially like the ring feature that changes manual to auto focus. Good photo quality and not too wide as in fisheye.

Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X 124 AF PRO DX SD review by DaveInAZ

  • Summary: Like most Tokina lenses, this is an awesome lens for the money. It's only real weakness is a very moderate amount of CA, which is almost unavoidable with UWA lenses. As the official review says, stopping down clears up the softness at the long end, and the short end is amazing.
  • Pros: Excellent Image Quality, Price, Size, Build Quality, Constant Aperture
  • Cons: CA

  • Summary: This lens feels solid and well made. It has fast focus, and a fast aperture. It is heavy but on my D7000 it is well balanced.

VERY solid lens, ran over it with my pickup-truck

  • Summary: No joke, I ran over this thing during a busy film day with my Chevy 3500. Felt a "bump" while backing up, and was immediatly horiffied to become aware that my camera bag was not in the truck with me. I hopped out, and sure enough, ran over the bag with the lens inside.

  • Summary: A fantastic lens, and one I use on a daily basis. One word of warning, when completely zoomed out, there is some vignetting at the corners. I use it to my advantage.

Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X 124 AF PRO DX SD review by makcv113

19 August 2012
  • Summary: I used this lens on a Canon 500D/T1i body. The build quality of this lens is that of a TANK! Feels solid, but feels like it outweighs an entry-level body. I adjusted to it, and never had a problem with it.
  • Pros: Image quality, tough build, zoom range, constant aperture F4
  • Cons: my lens crapped out on me, slow aperture F4

It's a great product

  • Summary: Awesome lens. The quality is amazing in okay to great lighting. Colors really shine and it's awesome for those huge landscape pictures. In low light, the lens is not so great, but still manageable. If you need low light capability, cough up some more money and get the tokina 11-16!
