  • Summary: If you shoot with an APS-C camera, Tokina AT-X PRO DX AF 12-24mm f/4 is a lens to consider when shopping for an ultra wide zoom (you're out of luck if you're using a full-frame body).

DP Review

  • Conclusion: The Tokina AT-X Pro SD 12-24mm F4 (IF) DX is a lens that could easily be overlooked by buyers considering a wideangle zoom, simply because of its more limited angle of view compared to most similar lenses on the market.
  • Pros: Excellent sharpness across almost all of the range, even wide open, Benign distortion characteristics (easy to correct at 12mm, visually neutral from 15mm to 24mm), High quality build, Well-implemented focus clutch mechanism, Constant F4 maximum aperture
  • Cons: Relatively narrow wideangle end (12mm vs 10mm of many competitors), Rather prone to flare when shooting into the light, Complex chromatic aberration behavior, Relatively poor close-range performance, Slightly soft at 24mm

  • Conclusion: Image quality proved adequate, with reasonable sharpness everywhere but the extreme corners. Vignetting was more of a problem than with other lenses; we had to move down two stops to get rid of it.
  • Pros: Reasonably good value
  • Cons: Too much vignetting

  • Conclusion: The Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X DX is a lens with many facets. The resolution characteristic is very good to excellent throughout the zoom range which is quite surprising for an ultra-wide zoom lens - more so for a third-party lens.

Kipróbáltuk: Tokina AT-X 12-24mm/F4 PRO DX

Pixinfo
4 March 2009
  • Summary: Az APS-C szenzormérethez már több gyártó is készít nagylátószögű zoomobjektívet.
  • Pros: Kategóriájában alacsony ár, Gyári napellenző, Fix F4 fényerő, Egyenletes képminőség (sarkokban is)
