Excerpt: I read many wonderful reviews about this lens. I ordered a used version (rated E+) from Adorama. it would not autofocus, and I returned it to Adorama within an hour of receiving it. Adorama may have a "hassle free" return policy, but they neglect to say a refund is not timely. It took them over a week to issue a refund after they received the lens.
Summary: Bought the lens from authorized dealer on Amazon. However, Tokina USA would not honor the warranty, and rebate. According to them lens is grey market. What's the use of buying from authorized dealer then. When buying beware of it. There are too many good lens from different companies to go through this hassle.
Excerpt: I purchased this lens to photograph jewellery. The focus depth of field is disappointing. Not as sharp as it should be. I tried the Canon version and the canon is superior. Retuning the Tokina!
Excerpt: I tried using this product to photograph rings and such. I don't know if I just got a bad egg or if this lens isn't worth the savings from the canon lens. It does not like to focus. I will sit there pushing the button in and it will take it forever. I really hope I can exchange this lens. I am not happy at all with it.
Excerpt: Today I received the lens together with the recommended filter set -Tiffen 55 mm .When I tried to attach one of the filters I discovered that there is no filter tread at the top of the lens.I assume is great product but until I have this issue resolved one star is enough.
