Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro (Canon) - Review / Test Report

photozone.de
17 April 2008
  • Conclusion: The Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro is a very good alternative to the high priced 100mm macro lenses offered by the genuine manufacturers as well as the other members of the third-party gang. It offers a very high quality optical performance with a great resolution, a smooth and buttery bokeh (out-of-focus blur), non-existent distortions and very well controlled vignetting. Minor flaws are higher-than-average CAs and a quite slow AF speed.

Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro - Review / Test Report

  • Conclusion: The Tokina AF 100mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro D macro is a real alternative to the high priced 100mm macro lenses offered by the genuine manufacturers (and the other members of the third-party gang). At around 350-400 EUR/US$ the Tokina costs significantly less but it still offers a comparable optical performance in a solid and durable package. Minor flaws are higher-than-average CAs and a quite slow AF speed.
