Excerpt: Works great photographing interiors of my residential rental units in the Boston, MA area. Should have made this purchase years ago instead of getting by with my Sigma 28-70 zoom. I'll put it to the test next month during my two week Danube River cruise in Central Europe. Can better evaluate after more "hands on.
Excerpt: I really like this lens. I love having all of my lenses be f/2.8 as I tend to shoot in low light and like wide open apertures. Switching from one lens to the next or not having to worry about variable aperture lenses at wide open helps here, especially shooting full manual. 11-16 is plenty wide and the distortion at the edges doesn't bother me like I thought it might. Most people when hearing 11mm ask if it's a fisheye. It most certainly is not.
Pros: Affordable Nice And Wide, Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Excerpt: HOW I USE THIS LENS: Primarily for astrophotogaphy, as this lens is supposed to be good for astrophography due to the relative lack of coma. I found this to be true compared to other lenses I use. PROS: -The color is quite neutral, even somewhat sterile and dead in some situations, both indoors and outdoors.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I've used this lens for a few months now. I like it very much. It is the least expensive wide angle lens that I can use with my Canon 70D. Images are usually sharp and the field of view is more than adequate for my use. I chose it over the Canon 10-22mm because of cost (this is cheaper) and the potential benefit of the larger aperture (f2.8 vs f3.5) which hasn't been much of a factor.
Excerpt: First of all let me say this is my second copy of this lens. The first one went back to B&H because it had sharpness issues. I'd read about these problems and took a chance on a second copy, which B&H promptly sent (love their return policy!) to me, and is right on the money. I bought this lens primarily for a trip to Europe this summer, and for general landscape and architecture photography.
