Excerpt: I bought the 90mm Sigma for my Pentax K-r for when I go to Epcot's Flower and Garden. I love the clear photos, and how close things appear. I am no pro, but the speed on focusing on items is quick. I have not tried it on portraits yet, but I will!!
Summary: I LOVE THIS LENS!! Fun to get creative with. I took some really great photos of flowers with water beading off and looks extremely professional! I really can not tell the difference between the canon version and did not want to spend the extra 100 for it. After 2 weeks of going in between buying one over the other i gave in and bought the Tamron! Great choice i made. I use this lens with my Rebal T3i and works like a charm.
Summary: This is a beautiful lens for the money. The 90mm is a great portrait lens and the macro feature allows dramatic photos of insects, flowers, droplets of water. Quickly goes into manual or AF mode. Very fast, great clarity. I love this lens.
Summary: I love this lens. It focuses quickly, gives a great range of depth of field, and works well as both a macro and a prime. I have gotten some really sharp, smooth pictures, and it wasn't hard to adjust to taking macro photos with it. Solidly made, not too heavy, fully recommend.
Excerpt: For those with a lust for the macros, this lens is an essential. I got this for use on my A7 (with a LA-EA3 adapter) and surprisingly it has not come off the camera since I got it. A moderate telephoto, an excellent macro lens and a superb portrait lens seems to be the combination that I have been searching for. From all the images that I have obtained with this lens till date, I notice that it is extremely sharp at just about all apertures.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
