REVIEW: Tamron SP AF 180mm f/3.5 Di LD (IF) Macro 1:1
12 February 2009
Conclusion: This lens is ergonomically well designed and handled nicely. Despite it’s capabilities, it did not weigh heavily on a neckstrap and felt comfortable and intuitive to use. Usable on full frame sensors and 35mm film as well as cropped sensors, we did wonder whether the resolving power would be able to keep up with the ever-increasing pixel count of modern cameras though.
Pros: Handles well and feels right., Good contrast, Good control of distortion and aberrations
Cons: Pure resolving power is disappointing, Price a little steep for performance

Tamron AF 180mm f/3.5 SP Di LD [IF] macro (Nikon) - Review / Test Report
26 October 2008
Conclusion: The Tamron AF 180mm f/3.5 SP Di LD [IF] macro offers a near-flawless performance. Optically it doesn't leave anything to be desired - the resolution is very good to excellent from f/3.5 all the way down to f/16 and vignetting, CAs and distortions are non-issues in field conditions. The bokeh (out-of-focus blur), a primary aspect in macro photography, is very smooth and buttery.
