Tamron Warranty is a joke!

Summary: This could be a great lens, however, mine quit focusing. I wrote to Tamron to get it fixed, and they said my serial number is invalid and they will not honor the warranty. So much for their great customer service. So now I have an expensive manual focus lens. I replaced it with the more expensive Canon L lens and never buy Tamron again. Well played Tamron, well played.
Summary: I pulled the lens out of the box placed it on two different camera bodies and the lens will not focus. I can hear the motor but no focus. I read some to the negative reviews and decided that I did not want to play with this particular product or manufacturer.
Excerpt: I purchased this lens to be use primarily for my motorsports photography business, but to also do some other photography with it as well. This lens has issues! In manual mode, the lens is extremely touchy on finely focusing. The focus also creeps after taking the shot, resulting in having to continually refocus. In full auto mode, the lens refuses to find the focus on a subject. The focus just goes crazy, from one extreme to the next.
Summary: any one have a 50 caliber sniper riffle I think it would make for a cool video Tamron lens against a 50 caliber I do want to film this and post it on YouTube
Pros: although the 2.8 f stop was my draw to this product and the price it simple was not worth the money
Cons: Tamron Quality I have been using NIKKOR lens for my D300 at events through out my life as a even photographer and have always has success with the quality of these lens after only using this lens less then 60 days I found that I could not focus the lens any more when the lens was sent to Tamron they said it was due to impact what bothers me most is NO local camera repair will touch theses lens they all tell me they can not get parts rom the manufacture . IN short they...
Summary: Very disappointed in Amazon. The lens I received is a grey market lens. I called Tamron to verify the serial and they said it was not one of their lenses and their warranty will not apply. It clearly states on this page there is a 6 year warranty. Be very careful who you buy from. Amazon obviously does not verify if these are grey market or not. This was purchased through a company call Web Offers. The lens itself is not that impressive.
Excerpt: I purchased this lens in September 2012, I needed a lens for several different events. Sports, animals, and weddings. I am very disappointed with the results. The lens is slow to focus, blurry, and images are not sharp. Just not happy with this lens at all. I did speak with a Tamron representative about the issues I was experiencing and he was no help, nor did he offer any suggestions. I have had my camera looked at to see if it was the camera.
Cons: Blurry Focus, Heavy, Macro Do Not Work, Poor in Low Light, Slow Focus, Weak Casing
Summary: The lens worked great with my Canon T1 about 2 out 3 times - other times, it stopped working with Err01 "Faulty communication with the lens". I contacted Tamron and was told it was a known issue that required aperture adjustment (nothing to do with the "communication with the lens"). The adjustment by Tamron repair service would be free of charge ONLY IF it was under warranty.
Summary: I thought I could save money and purchase the cheaper lens. Sadly all I ended up doing was wasting my time and money. I purchased this lens so I wouldn't have to use my flash in low light. Because the unit is slow to focus and performs poorly in low light I just returned the unit and purchased the more expensive lens that I should of gone with in the first place.
Summary: I had heard many great things and read several reviews about this lens, so I was excited to get it. Unfortunately, from the moment I put it on my camera, it gave me a communication error, which I've never seen before. I was unable to use it.
Would not focus on distant objects, returned the lens

Summary: Thank goodness that I purchased this from amazon. The lens was a piece of junk. Don't let anyone tell you that this lens focusing is even close to adequate. It is as slow as mud. The motor whirls the lens focus does not lock. It focused on near objects but at distance 75 feet out it would lock but the resulting images were not in focus. You could see in the view finder that they did not look in focus and they were not.
