Excerpt: I have a Canon 70-200 f2.8L Lens, but the reviews of the Tamron lens showed it as being much sharper and so I purchased it. I have Parakeets which fly around in my house. I fitted my 5DII with the Canon lens and took shots of the birds sitting in various different places, as they fly around quite a bit. Next I fitted the Tamron lens and took the same shots. By the time the lens would focus, the bird had flown. So I got NOTHING.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: I unfortunately have not used this product but a few times and have found it to be not as advertised. I'm pretty sure this lens was used and have found that the auto focus is not working properly. Too bad I found this out too late or I would have returned it sooner.
Excerpt: Do not know whether images could be good. The auto-focus simply would not work reliably with my Canon 50D. Indoors it actually would focus about 50% of the time but outdoors, in bright sunlight, it would only focus 10% of the time and only then when I focused on something close and then went long. Tried every type of metering and mode in the camera with no luck.
Pros: Good price, good pictures when it actually works.
Cons: Failed less then an hour into the trip I bought it for. Took over a month to get authorized to send it in to tamron. Finally got it back from tamron just in time for the next trip and it failed less then an hour into it. The autofocus switch fails so it switches between modes randomly. Tryed it on multiple bodies and the problem always follows the lens. Tamrons customer service sucks.
Summary: I didn't know it was possible for a lens to really focus this slow, almost as if it was waiting for me to focus it! I pulled it out of the box, still at the counter, I never bought it, figured i'd try it out since im in the market for a solid 70-200, popped it onto my D3, and aimed it at a brightly lit sign, with blig black sharp letters, easy focus point! it was like this thing was guessing! it had no clue!
Pros: Consistent Output, Lightweight, Made of cheap plastic
Summary: I bought this lens a year ago I primarily shot weddings its a great lense but it kept coming up communication error on my mark ii body, I had it repaired three times before amazon kindly arranged a replacement sadly the replacement did the same thing i tested the lense on a canon 7d and same error so i know its not the body :( Tamron were as much help as a chocolate firegaurd the customer service was appalling, and you have to pay to send the lense to them would not...
Summary: Getestet an Nikon D90, im Vergleich zu Nikon 70 -300 mm bei gleichen Einstellungen: mäßiger Kontrast, langsamer Autofokus, selten scharfe Bilder (Back-, Frontfocus ?), Service Tamron mäßig, keine Angabe über Objektivalter, Verkäufer Ringfoto Gonera: nach Rücksendung 30 % Abschlag vom Kaufpreis + Erstattung der Reparaturkosten = Abzocke!
