Excerpt: I have been using this lens to photograph landscapes and large outdoor fundraising events. It has excellent depth of field and angle of coverage that enabled me to get in close with a wide view. On an APS-C sensor it is the equivalent of a 15-36mm lens on a 35mm camera. I did not notice any significant issue with focusing under the bright daylight conditions in which I have used it.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Good depth of field, Strong Construction, Wide Field Of View
Excerpt: I needed a new wide angle for stadium shots and landscape. My former wide angle, a Sigma 17-35, never clearly focused on the right side of the images for some reason. I already owned 2 other Tamron lenses for my Pentax K-5 and K-5 IIs bodies, a 28-75 f2.8 and a 70-200 f2.8. Tamron seems to be a perfect match with the Pentax bodies. Just like my other Tamron lenses, this 10-24mm is producing superb images.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: This is an update for my past review. After shooting several thousand shots with this lens in various situations/conditions, and doing more research on it I found this lens has some of the lowest barrel distortion (2.0 percent) compared to other wide angle zooms. Also, the TTL metering is accurate in all exposure modes (Point, Matrix, Wide, Auto). And the focus ring concerns I had are now dismissed. I accidently turned it a few times while in AF mode, and no issues.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
