Works Great

Renderman, B&H Photo
26 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I am using a Canon T3 Rebel which is entry level of professional digital cameras. I have been taking pictures of the wild horses of Nevada and wanted some good close ups shots. I have been very happy with this lens as it zooms and makes nice clear images. I would suggest reading several reviews before making your purchase. While this is not a $ of $ lens it does a wonderful job for us that don't have the money to spend on high dollar lens.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy, Poor in Low Light

Tanron SP 70-300 DI VC UDS really gets t

Dancing Bear, B&H Photo
10 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought the Tamron SP 70-300 DI VC UDS telephoto lens after reviewing ever telephoto lens that would fit a Canon 70D and and decided to go for the most bang for the buck. Everything is a trade off in Photography but I am pleased with the shoots I'm getting. It's very sharp up to around 200 mm and still quite good to 300. I found it focuses best for me on single sensor, single shot modes through the viewfinder.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Telephoto

Rob, B&H Photo
23 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Wanted to replace my Canon 70-300 EF 4-5.6 III because it didn't have image stabilization and I'm planning on trying my hand at some sports when football season comes around. The best part about this lens is probably the VC (image stabilization). You can see the image lock into place in the frame, so that you can take the picture. The lens is also pretty sharp, granted I've been experimenting with faster shutter speeds lately. Does a good job outdoors on a well lit day.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction

2 June 2014
  • Summary: Pros: Sharp and Vignette free the whole range. Strong contrast and color through 200mm. Excellent Creamy Bokeh!, sharp edges, decent contrast, good resolution, hefty construction, optional VC and AF switches, wonderful MF adjust feature, no lens creep at all, VC gets power from commlite and makes hand held 300mm a breeze. No distortion anywhere, none.

You Get More for Less

fototker, B&H Photo
19 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I read many different reviews before purchasing this lens. Many reviews stated that for full frame cameras (I use a Canon 5D MK III), this lens was 1)sharper on the edges and corners than the older Canon version, 2) the front element did not rotate making it better for CP filter use, and, 3) the VC was better by a couple of stops. I can definitely say that all the above are true.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy
